Our business helps support their way of life and contributes to the survival of a culture that has thrived in a challenging environment.**Job Summary:**The IT SME Functional Area Lead for Cisco Routing and Switching provides high-level subject matter proficiency for work described in the task. IT SME will provide advanced technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environment, high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, training, and implementation advice on complex problems that require extensive knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation.The preferred applicant will have 3-5 years of experience with Cisco routing and switching equipment in a NOC environment. The engineer should have pronounced knowledge in boundary devices such as Blue Coat Proxies and Palo Alto Networks Firewalls. Must work in a team-oriented environment focused in collaborating to protect the Air Force network.**Management Responsibilities:**+ Strong communications skills.+ Participate in weekly site team lead meetings and disseminate messages to be shared with functional area employees.+ Represent IAFNOS from a functional area perspective in daily meetings, functional area summits and ensure project and functional area boundary operations is communicated clearly and professionally, emphasizing a single IAFNOS team (meaning all locations, not just one) when speaking.+ Supervise functional area team, provide performance feedback, training, mentoring, and develop and communicate each team members growth path and provide continual feedback on progress of employees progress toward this growth path.+ Work with other locations to build a culture of a unified team environment.+ Advise management on employees progress, or lack thereof toward the growth path defined to the employee and other observations regarding each employees performance.+ Develop, coordinate and communicate shift schedules, ensure shift coverage requirements are met as well as TPI, clearance compliance per shift and ensure employees do not feel stuck on a shift.+ Ensure that as attrition occurs that remaining employees are considered for promotion prior to communicating staffing needs to the site lead.+ Manage timesheets and employee leave schedules.+ Participate and encourage employee appreciation initiatives.+ Create and maintain an environment conducive to employees feeling comfortable expressing concerns or issues.**Key Responsibilities:**+ Work with other functional areas across the enterprise to maintain and administer security boundary components to meet IAW DoD and Air Force Standards utilizing industry best practices.+ Experience configuring and maintaining Blue Coat Proxy Servers+ Configure, upgrade, and maintain boundary devices with focus on High Availability techniques.+ Assist in the planning, implementation and installation of firewalls and proxies according to baseline architecture.+ Identify and document potential threats and manage resolution of security violations.+ Manage, troubleshoot, and correct IPS induced service issues.+ Grant and restrict administrative access to boundary devices according to authorization rules.+ Collaborate to maintain and administer security boundary components at all locations following IAW DoD and AF standards guidance.+ Identify potential threats and manage the resolution of security violations.+ Monitor potential threats using government provided software such as SolarWinds, Wireshark, and Splunk+ Make changes, upgrades, and patches utilizing two-person integrity compliance through established change management procedures.+ Respond to outages, resolve and document priority incident tickets.+ Monitor a ticket-based Remedy system following an incident priority matrix.+ Troubleshoot web connectivity problems.**Qualifications****Minimum Qualifications:**+ 12 Years of Experience+ Bachelors degree or equivalent experience+ Must possess a DoD Secret Clearance, Top Secret preferred (US Citizenship required).+ Candidate must be certified in accordance with DoD 8570 IAT Level II approved baseline certifications prior to start date.
