The Civil Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a VCC (Virtual Command Center) and Information Systems Lead. This is an exciting opportunity to use your information systems experience to successfully transition a large DOE program in the Oak Ridge, TN area.

Primary Responsibilities

- Evaluate mission requirements and develop, test, integrate and implement associated information system solutions including the virtual command center for integration of key performance information for access by customers, team members and management.

- Research, evaluate, integrate and modify Commercial off the shelf (COTS) hardware with COTS and custom software

- Work independently and as part of a project team responsible for installing, configuring, integrating and testing systems hardware and software and related tactical and enterprise IT and communications systems

- Work independently and as part of a team to evaluate and recommend new technologies and to enhance current capabilities of established situational awareness systems

- Responsible for developing test procedures, system documentation and training materials

- Analyze system faults, troubleshoots and runs diagnostic tests on hardware, applications, and operating systems to detect problems

- Provide technical analyses of network challenges and problems and be able to develop/implement technical solutions

- Tests, evaluates, installs developed software during various phases of development

- Work closely with the Leidos Information Assurance team to ensure that all systems are compliant with DOE cyber and information security requirements.

  • Requires a Bachelors degree and 8 or more years of prior relevant experience; or Masters degree with 6 or more years of prior relevant experience. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

  • Technical (hands-on) experience with networking, VSAT, Cybersecurity Compliance, systems engineering standards, and technical procedure documentation.

  • Ability to logically and systematically convert customer or product requirements into total system solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

  • Subject matter expertise on enterprise information systems / security architecture and ability to apply these to the organization's overall technical strategy.

  • Strong ability to work well with a diverse staff.

  • Demonstrated experience in making processes more efficient.

  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills, especially in conducting cross-training events for the team.

  • Knowledge of operations testing and evaluation methods.

  • Experience leading a technical team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, cost estimation, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the practical application of engineering, science, and technology.
