Chief marketing officers (CMOs) are under incredible pressure to perform as not only the creative minds, but as the growth drivers, customer champions, data experts, and change agents in their organizations. Yet this expanded role brings questions as marketing leaders grapple with how to deliver on their new demands. That's where the CMO Program comes in.

We help build Deloitte's reputation in marketing services and develop relationships with senior marketing leaders so we can be their trusted partner. We conduct research to help CMOs with their toughest problems. As Content & Insights Lead you will play a key role in managing the development of the CMO Program's proprietary content and insights. You will have the opportunity to work with a wide array of Deloitte teams and leaders who serve CMOs, stretch your creative and strategic thinking, and work with executive-level clients.

The ideal candidate is a high-performing Consultant or Senior Consultant with exceptional project management skills, good facilitation/presentation skills, executive presence, adept data analysis and excel capabilities, a strong interest in marketing, and a passion and aptitude for creating innovative content and experiences for our clients and account teams. A proactive and hard-working attitude and excitement for operating in a "start-up" environment will help the person excel in this role.

Work you'll do

  • Support delivery of high-caliber content to deliver on the CMO Program's thought leadership strategy and goal to build eminence and reputation with CMOs in the marketplace
  • Help develop action plans and execution of primary and secondary research to support priority content topics for the CMO Program (including writing briefs for upcoming articles and performing annual content audits)
  • Source and facilitate partnerships with internal and external researchers, content creators and vendors
  • Support CMO Program researchers in analyzing research findings and translating into actionable insights for CMOs
  • Translate insights into compelling stories and visuals in partnership with internal and external teams to bring content to life for internal and external audiences
  • Support creation of video and other digital content
  • Support launch of a global survey leveraging research analytics experience, including: curating questions, supporting survey technology, analyzing responses, and drawing insights
  • Capture CMO Program-related data in Salesforce; create dashboards; input, aggregate, and analyze data to reach meaningful conclusions to inform the CMO Program agenda and strategy
  • Own executive update decks and monthly reporting
  • Schedule and/or maintain meeting invites across team as appropriate
  • Manage ad-hoc CMO Program projects and sprints
  • Analyze and synthesize CMO lab-related information, identifying key client challenge themes

Deloitte's CMO Program, one of the role-based programs within the Executive Accelerators group, provides a portfolio of offerings to help CMOs navigate the complexities of their role, tackle their most complex challenges, and adapt to shifts in the market. The CMO Program's goal is to create relationships and elevate Deloitte's reputation in the market with CMOs. Offerings address leadership and talent development, facilitate immersive and engaging client experiences, and provide content and insights. All of the CMO Program's offerings help prepare CMO's for success, evolve decision making, and expand their thinking in a way that helps them embrace the wide world of marketing.

Qualifications include
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Creative thinker with foresight to implement innovative approaches
  • Ability to strategically think at a 30,000 ft. level and then roll up the sleeves and perform tactical tasks
  • Well-developed analytical skills - ability to synthesize group discussions into concise / concrete bullet points and help steer abstract dialogue into actionable themes; strong data analysis skills preferred
  • Self-starter, capable of working independently, proactively and operating effectively in ambiguity in a virtual environment
  • Executive presence, as well as strong written and oral presentation skills
  • Ability to manage risks, knowing what and when to escalate issues to the CMO Program managers
  • Strong presentation building skills
  • Prior work with client experiences or marketing executives on marketing related projects a plus, but not required
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • Potential travel up to 10% (While 10% of travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice.)
