Materiel Handling Equipment Repairer (3501-010)

Overview:

Responsible for the inspection, servicing, repair and load test of assigned Aviation Ground Support Equipment to include but not limited to MHE, B-1 and B-4 Maintenance stands, 5T to 20T Aviation Maintenance Jacks and Aviation Tow Bar assemblies. Responsible for keeping the Ground Support Equipment in a high state of repair and operability. Additionally, functions as the HAZMAT and POL coordinator for the GSE Maintenance facility

Duties/Responsibilities:

Diagnose and repair assigned aviation ground support equipment to include but not limited to: B-1 and B-4 Maintenance stands, 5T to 20T Aviation Maintenance Jacks and Aviation Tow Bar assemblies. Perform Load tests on GSE equipment as needed to maintain certification. Responsible for the maintenance of log books and records on equipment to include repair parts requisitioning. Assist in the training of MNG Soldiers enrolled in the GSE Maintenance OJT program. Works within the maintenance quality control processes, procedures, and standards. Perform other tasks as assigned. Supports the Airfield Foreign Object Debris program. Reports to the Vehicle/GSE Maintenance Senior Mechanic. Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Minimum Qualifications:

Education Level: Civilian High School Diploma or equivalent. Completion of one-year vocational training in
automotive mechanics.

Experience: Four (4) years of recent experience in the diagnostics, repair and maintenance of Aviation Ground Support Equipment. Preferred (4) years of Aviation Ground Support Equipment Maintenance. HAZMAT Certification, HAZWOPER or equivalent. Prior Military experience preferred

Specific knowledge, skill, and ability requirements: Knowledgeable in working with technical maintenance manuals. Ability to communicate in English. Possesses a valid driver’s license.
