Overview:
Serves as a Staff Trainer for all matters concerning on flight/ground aviation standardization issues. The Staff Trainer is responsible for assisting in the planning, coordinating, and supervising of all current and future command operations, directly supporting the Office of Program Management (Aviation) team to meet the Ministry of the National Guard’s operational requirements. Responsible to Evaluate and assist aviation standardization programs on an MNG-wide basis. Responsible to provide feedback to the MNG Chief of aviation-on-aviation related problem areas that surface during the conduct of aviation standardization and evaluation visits. Responsible for all aviation literature in MNG-AVN for technical accuracy appropriate to branch responsibilities and recommend changes to aviation literature to the Chief of MNG-AVN. Responsible for performing duties as a Flight Instructor/Standardization Instructor for non-rated crewmembers in the UH-60M Aircraft and supporting simulation device(s). Provide flight instruction to non-rated crewmembers on all flight tasks in accordance with the approved Aircrew Training Module (DATM), Course Management Plan (CMP), Program of Instruction (POI), and Flight Training Guide (FTG). Conduct academic instruction in support of flight training on all applicable topics. Conduct preflight briefing, post flight debriefing, and after action reviews (AAR) to ensure crewmembers have a thorough comprehension of the training conducted. Maintain flight training records in accordance with appropriate US Army regulations and local guidance. Instruction may include any combination of Individual or Group instruction in an academic classroom environment and or aircraft or simulator.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Provide executive level expertise and assistance to the Saudi Arabian National Guard General Officers and the operations staff supporting current and future operations within areas aviation standardization and training management. Provide the Saudi Arabian National Guard General Officer staff with assessing, developing, coordinating, and preparing current aviation related actions for decision and implementation. Monitors MNG-AVN standardization programs and serves as the interface between MNG-AVN G-3 and the Brigade. Primary MNG-AVN G3/5 staff officer responsible for developing MNG-AVN standardization policies for aviation regulations. Manage the creation, modification and implementation of aviation flight policy, regulations, training documents and procedures. Train and evaluate Aviation FI’s/SI’s and non-rated crew members (NRCM’s) in the UH-60M Aircraft in accordance with the approved ATM and specific unit ATP guidelines. Develop or update Aviation non-rated Aircrew Training Program, appropriate UH-60M/MNG-AVN related manuals, CMP and POI in accordance with customer guidance. Verify and confirm that all required flight training publications are current and complete. Conduct and evaluate individual readiness level progression tasks during day, night, and night vision goggle (NVG), and instrument flight rules (IFR). Conducts initial and concurrent training and evaluations of employee and customer SI/CE’s in accordance with approved Aircrew Training Modules (DATM) requirements. Prepare aviation non-rated aircrews through realistic mission training flight maneuvers under local environmental conditions to include dust landings, and weather specific desert training. Conducts classes as required by the customers. Attends meetings as required with customers. Recommend aviation non-rated aircrew appointments to customer leadership. Responsible for providing direct interface and daily status reports as required between staff for training status, mission assignments, mission planning, and crew status. Assist in Functional Check Flights as required as directed by MNG counterparts. Able to perform duties in a culturally sensitive environment and maintain a professional approach, attitude, and appearance at all times. Develops, updates, and performs as SME in all non-rated aircrew POI and Flight Training Guide areas, and subjects as required by the customer leadership. Reports to the Flight Instructor Examiner UH-60M Lead Performs within the broad guidelines of duties and responsibilities with significant choice of methods. Authority to select and implement goals and objectives within the execution of duties and responsibilities. Supervisory Responsibilities: Responsible for the management, training, and advancement process for assigned Non-Rated Crewmembers.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education Level: High School Diploma or equivalent. Must have been qualified as a non-rated crewmember instructor (FI) or non-rated crewmember standardization instructor (SI). Graduate of instruction from an USAACE approved proponent school for MOS qualification related to the mission type and design UH-60 series or an (FI/SI) evaluation administered by a standardization instructor (SI) selected by the Directorate of Evaluations and Standardization (DES) required or equivalent. Qualified on the UH-60 Series Aircraft.

Experience: Experience in utility helicopter mission required. Minimum of 250 flight instructor (FI) or standardization flight hours (SI) hours in the UH-60 series aircraft required. Minimum of 75 standardization instructor (SI) hours in the UH-60 series aircraft required. Minimum of 100 Night Vision Goggle hours (NVG) required. Combat experience preferred. Flight instructor experience at an USAACE approved school of instruction or equivalent preferred.

Specific knowledge, skill, and ability requirements: Must possess and maintain an FAA Class II flight physical or GACA equivalent. Ability to pass an FI/SI evaluation as appropriate by a standardization instructor upon hire and annually thereafter. Knowledge of Army Aviation training concepts, administration, and logistics. Ability to communicate both orally and written in English. Ability to effectively deal with people in the coordination of staff and team members. Ability to effectively communicate with the customer in a professional and courteous manner. Possesses a valid driver’s license. Any or all of the above minimum qualifications may be waived by Chief of MNG-Aviation.
