Job Summary

The successful Aircraft Logs & Records Technician performs organizational level maintenance on assigned aircraft under contract to Amentum, Pt Mugu, CA. Maintain, issue, and dispose of aircraft, engine and associated component equipment logs and records, and inventory records including aircraft and engine reports as provided by written instructions.

  • Process readiness documents, administer the aircraft configuration status accounting program, and verify aircraft utilization reports. Maintain files of correspondence, directives, and records as provided by written procedures.
  • Work closely with Maintenance Control Supervision in the verification of Maintenance Action Documentation prior to publishing a monthly 3M summary for management review and required logbook entries. Comply with all applicable sections of NAVAIRINST 3710.1F, CNAFINST 4790.2 Series and Amentum Local Site Procedures as applicable to aircraft maintenance.
  • Position regularly requires standing, walking, use of hands and fingers to handle, grip or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and to talk or hear. Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Ability to utilize card files and common office equipment.
  • Have strong mathematical computation ability. May be required to perform receptionist, phone answering, and other clerical services in support of Production Control operations.
  • Perform related duties as determined by written and verbal instructions. Ensure work area is maintained in a neat and orderly manner and comply with all OSHA and DI safety rules and regulations. May work with other groups or personnel to resolve problems. Perform related duties as assigned including all duties of lower rate technical personnel within their classification. Assist other shop/skills as required.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Successful completion of related military or commercial courses.
  • Five years US Navy/USMC/USCG O-level CNAFINST 4790.2 Series aircraft maintenance support experience.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to work all assigned shifts & scheduled.
  • Shall possess or can qualify for a Secret Security Clearance as required. Required to obtain a Govt. issued Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Shall possess or can qualify for a U.S. state driver’s license.
