Job Description: Content Strategy Analyst, English and Communication

  • Acquire new author and guide current authors, thought-leaders, and market-shapers to create leading content and bring their teaching models to Pearson.
  • In collaboration with product colleagues, develop content strategy and inform content to drive better student learning experiences and outcomes and engage customers.
  • Be informed and current on product, content, and instructional model direction.
  • Monitor competitive trends in content through customer engagement, peer review and analysis, and market research.
  • In collaboration with colleagues, own, drive, and take initiative on Pearson Editorial Policies, including accessibility and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Be an engaged ambassador for products internally and externally, as well as a key face within academic communities.

We seek a Content Strategy Analyst to join a highly collaborative and fast-moving team and be a key face in the academic communities for English and Communication. You will be part of a team that partners with Product Managers, Content Producers, Digital Producers, and Expert Authors to deliver the highest quality content solutions for winning products.

For English and Communication, Product Manager and Content Strategy Analysts are partners with the goal to deliver English and Communication portfolios that establish academic excellence, meet market expectations, and drive revenue growth for Pearson. The role reports to the Manager, Content Strategy, Humanities, Social Sciences, World Languages, and English.

Cross team collaboration and continuous reconfiguration of resourcing with flexible, adaptive structures organized around opportunity are critical requirements for this role.

  • Ensure that our course content is best-of-class in scholarship, pedagogy, curriculum and course alignment; and is driven by insights that are global and are aligned with Pearson’s Editorial Policies, including accessibility and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Be informed and up to date on content and teaching model direction in English and Communication discipline areas.
  • Scout new content providers and content solutions that aligns with product roadmap and content strategy goals.
  • In collaboration with colleagues, support the development and management of relationships with leading edge critical content providers and other partners.
  • Drive direction and provide valuable input to the improvement of content strategy processes to accelerate innovation and time to market.
  • Engagement with industry community and networks; and be current on content trends through customer engagement, peer review and analysis, and market development.
  • In collaboration with colleagues, engage with Product Management to establish title release cycles.
  • In collaboration with Legal or Royalty, create contracts and engage in negotiations; and manage other royalty and other legal issues.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of B.A. Degree
  • Educational Content and/or Content Management experience, print and digital.
  • Demonstrable understanding of education and learning from a consumer viewpoint (teacher and learner).
  • Demonstrable ability to translate winning content strategies into actionable plans and print and digital products that drive value for teachers and learners.
  • Ability to gather quantitative and qualitative insight into different markets and the opportunities within them; and to build and execute effective content strategies.
  • Use analytical reasoning skills to distill multiple inputs from markets, customers, and leaders; and use deep understanding of operations, business strategies, and strategic thinking to guide authors, facilitate content operations, and develop market leading content.
