  • Manage collection activity for a portfolio of Verizon Public Sector, State, Local, Education accounts.
  • Maintain a high quality of customer accounts while maximizing working capital and minimizing bad debt and reducing churn.
  • Direct contact with customers on past due amounts.
  • Obtain commitments for payment and work with the customer on billing disputes with assistance from the Sales/Account and Billing Teams as necessary, to ensure prompt resolution.
  • Contract customers and collecting past due balances as well as reconciling payments and completing account research.
  • Interact with account teams and various internal departments and will also be responsive to inquiries from Sales, Service and Customers in order to resolve receivable issues.

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or one or more years of work experience.
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or related field.
  • Experience working in a collection support call center.
  • Experience creating complex queries and reporting tools.
  • Experience working with financial, accounting, and collection support systems.
  • Experience of electronic customer self-serve support applications.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
