The Team

The Investigation and Disputes practice helps clients predict, detect, and respond to global crises, controversies, and transactions. We assist with challenging financial and economic issues in complex litigation and other business dispute cases.

Our Investigation and Disputes professionals review accounting and business records and provide detailed analysis to help uncover essential facts and insights. We can bring to bear the range of our forensic investigation skill set to help our clients understand and analyze events or issues and prepare to deal with them. We have developed methodologies and strategies that help clients handle difficult circumstances.

With decades of investigations and dispute consulting experience and through thousands of matters of various types and descriptions, we have a solid track record of helping counsel with challenging financial and economic issues. We are trained to provide financial insight and clarity to counsel during the various stages of a business dispute, from case theory development and discovery to expert witness testimony.

Work You'll Do

  • Assist in prepare and executing detailed work plans for various engagements in forensic investigations and dispute services
  • Review documents to identify items relevant to investigation or dispute consulting matter
  • Compile and analyze facts to formulate, substantiate and/or critique various damages theories, claims or conclusions
  • Assist in preparing client presentations, reports and deliverables on diverse projects, including accounting and fraud investigations, false claims act investigations and complex business litigation matters
  • Assist with engagement management administration, including budgeting, billing and conflict checks
  • Balance multiple projects and responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively to all levels of engagement management
  • Assist in the coaching, mentoring, and counseling of staff
  • Oversee 3-5 Associates during client projects
  • Assist with the preparation of proposals, participation in marketing initiatives
  • Research market issues and identify market opportunities
  • Demonstrate an understanding of risk associated with various engagements

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of technical accounting, auditing and/or financial advisory related experience forensic accounting, investigation or litigation services experience
  • Demonstrated ability to provide services involving accounting and business consulting projects; participate in client presentations
  • Ability to analyze companies from a financial, operational, and industry perspective
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Travel up to 50% (While up to 50% travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice)
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United Stated without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

Preferred
  • Public accounting, audit experience, Masters in Accounting or CPA in a professional services firm preferred
  • Professional demeanor and strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • A strong accounting, finance, and/or economics background preferred.
