Senior Specialist Compliance and Tax Reporting

Location: Oss, with possibility to work from home (preferably 2 days per week in the office).

About the position

The key responsibilities as Senior Specialist Compliance are:

  • implementation and monitoring of Organon financial policies and procedures;
  • primary point of contact and driver of compliance knowledge, awareness and implementation by employees to the fullest extent.

The Senior Specialist Compliance analyses Company processes and controls based on financial and compliance risk and monitors and controls that all areas adhere to compliance standards and delivers on an ongoing basis continuous improvement to relevant processes.

You will ensure an effective financial control environment by understanding and monitoring the execution of local control procedures including that all key controls as defined in the company’s Global and Local Control Standards are properly executed and documented. You will support global projects and you will lead financial efforts on a local level.

You will work closely together with the regional and global compliance officers.

The key responsibilities as Senior Specialist Tax reporting are:

  • Accounting and controlling of the corporate income taxes;
  • act as an advisor for statutory reporting requirements.

You will cooperate closely with other members of the accounting team, corporate tax and external tax consultants.

Primary responsibilities

Compliance (70%)

  • Review, advise and implement adequate control measures of the potential entity risks;
  • Liaise with other members of the team to build a stronger control environment and create consistency within the international team;
  • Manage the risk and control matrix (RCM), Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) for the Netherlands and Global ERP system and be the advisor for the business;
  • Ensure that SOX testing and reporting are executed within the expected time limits and quality;
  • Maintain and monitor SAP global role management (user management and segregation of duties (SOD) analysis);
  • Advise and coach business partners regarding compliance (business integrity assurance);
  • Review and approve mandatory supporting documents conform FCPA policy (e.g. risk assessment, due diligence, aggregate spend, grants, sponsoring);
  • Be the contact person for all HQ financial control matters;
  • Act as Record Management Liaison;
  • Support the Finance Global Business Process Owner and participate as required in ERP implementations.

Tax reporting (30%)

  • Review and coordinate filing of corporate income tax returns and associated schedules and financial statements with external consultants;
  • Review monthly tax entries and quarterly tax reporting;
  • Develop finance view on tax including determining of tax accounting for business deals and other non-routine transactions.

Other responsibilities

  • Intensive communication with internal and external auditors and coordination of audits;
  • Support holding accounting and other projects;
  • Works closely with Legal department on ownership and participations;
  • Support Entity Controller on statutory accounting.


  • A Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Accounting/Finance;
  • A minimum of five years of demonstrated experience in a financial control & compliance related role in an international embedded company;
  • Knowledge of Corporate Governance regulations/audit methodology and internal controls;
  • Interest in international finance environment;
  • Outstanding analytical skills;
  • High proficiency in English (Dutch is a strongly preferred);
  • Highly skilled in working with excel/automated databases;
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment;
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and with changing priorities;
  • Ability to build strong relationships within and across functions with ability to deal with senior management level;
  • Innovative and strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills;
  • SAP knowledge is preferred.
