We bring a human touch to every treatment we pioneer. Join us and make a difference.

Job Description

We seek a collaborative and highly innovative computational scientist to join our Predictive Sciences team and develop cutting-edge computational strategies to analyze multi-omics perturbation data from compounds in our proprietary library to infer novel mechanism-of-action (MoAs) for oncology application.

This position will work alongside colleagues with other teams in the global Informatics and Predictive Sciences (IPS) group and play a key scientific role in elucidating different compound MoA classes in our library at the level of cellular pathways and biological networks and predict their therapeutic effects on specific primary disease subtypes. We seek candidates who are passionate about learning a new drug discovery paradigm, bringing new medicines to the patients, and comfortable working in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate multi-dimensional compound profiling data from proteomics, transcriptomics, and phenomics screens to elucidate compound activities
  • Interpret compound MoA by mapping and analyzing compound perturbation in the context of cellular pathways and biological networks
  • Predict a compound’s therapeutic effect by linking compound perturbations with molecularly defined primary disease states.
  • Collaborate with toxicology group to analyze compound profiling data for early identification of potential safety liabilities
  • Design and implement systems biology approaches to prioritize novel drug targets and compound MoAs.
  • Help create knowledge-graph from internal and external datasets to facilitate navigation of knowledgebase.
  • Author scientific reports, and present methods, results, and conclusions to publishable standard.
  • Contribute to planning and execution of collaborative projects with leading academic and commercial research groups worldwide.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in computational biology or systems biology with 2+ years of post-doctoral experience in applying computational and analytical approaches in university, pharma, or biotech settings, focusing on drug discovery, or elucidating underlying disease pathology.
  • Systems biology methods focused on both casual and correlative inferences.
  • Extensive experience in analyzing perturbation data from a wide variety of molecular profiles such as transcriptomics and proteomics in an integrative fashion.
  • Knowledge of various public perturbation repositories and ingestion of data from these repositories for internal use.
  • Ability to work with noisy and missing data to tease out relevant information.
  • Expertise in programming and scripting languages (R, Python, or Matlab).
  • Knowledge of various parametric and non-parametric statistical tests and ability to identify and apply the appropriate statistical test.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in machine learning/deep learning.
  • Knowledge of drug discovery in pre-clinical and early phase drug development stages
