Are you a licensed automotive mechanic who wants to shift into a new opportunity with a growing company? Take the wheel and drive your career forward with Pennsylvania American Water! Our team in Carnegie, PA is seeking an experienced, licensed autmotive mechanic to join our team. Our facility houses over 70 vehicles including cars, trucks, backhoes and other large operating equipment. In this role, you will perform routine, preventative maintenance such as wiper checks, leak inspections, oil changes, and tire rotations. As a licensed inspector in the state of PA, you will also perform vehicle inspections. The winning candidate will hold the required state credentials, be a mechanical expert, and be able to prioritize and stay on task to get our vehicles safely on the road!

Primary Role

As the team's Automotive Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining, modifying, and repairing all company vehicles, ditch pumps, and compressors, and other relative equipment.

Key Accountabilities

  • Maintains, modifies, and repairs all company vehicles, ditch pumps, air compressors, etc.
  • Performs other normal duties as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Thorough knowledge of Pennsylvania Official Inspection Station Manual.

Experience/Education

  • GED/High School diploma
  • A minimum of two (2) years field experience or two (2) years equivalent education from a technical vocational school in auto mechanics/automotive technology as per state law.

Job Requirements

  • Position is subject to 24/7/365 hour call-out and overtime.
  • Must be physically able to perform all job duties

Certifications/Licenses:

  • Must have certification from Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Transportation as a Pennsylvania Official Inspection Mechanic in the classification of motor vehicles and trailers (both passenger and commercial type) and maintain that certification.
  • Class 7 PA state inspection license required
  • A valid driver's license is required
  • CDL Class B required
  • DOT medical card required

Schedule/Hours

  • Shift: Monday-Friday, 3:30pm-12am EST
  • Full-time
