Eatons Electrical Sector is currently seeking a Materials Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Milton, ON facility.Position Overview:Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position directs and controls the movement of material in and out of the Milton manufacturing plant and manages key materials-related functions such as: purchasing, material planning, inventory control, shipping, receiving, customer service, and warehousing. This role is primarily responsible for supporting the Milton Manufacturing Operation and for maximizing service levels to a number of internal & external customers, including (but not limited to): Perth, Satellites, and Airdrie. Its where bold, bright professionals like you can reach your full potential and where you can help us reach oursIn this function you will:+ Manage all aspects of site Materials function (Purchasing, Material planning, Inventory Control, Shipping, Receiving, Customer Service, and Warehousing), in adherence with Corporate, Divisional and Plant policies to achieve plant, departmental, and functional goals while ensuring compliance.+ Develop Inventory strategy, plans, and processes in order to drive sustainable Year Over Year (YOY) Inventory reduction, without jeopardizing service levels (internal & external customers), leveraging appropriate & prescribed functional tools (ie. ABC/XYZ, ERP Health, Inventory Analytics, Forecast, PFEP, Planning Bills, etc).+ Drive Cost Out to meet established objectives for Distribution, Logistics, and Materials savings.+ Lead monthly Supply Meeting, per Eatons SIOP (sales, inventory, operations) policy, to determine forecast of materials requirements needed to meet production schedules, inventory levels, and shipment demands to achieve on-time production and inventory management requirements.+ Plan and execute Physical Inventory process, including material off-site at supplier locations and warehouses.+ Conduct process checks within areas of responsibility and proactively monitor performance (Inventory Dollars, Markview Inventory On Holds, Days On Hand, Cycle Count Accuracy, Receiving On time, Internal and External On-Time Performance), and drive root cause & corrective action as required.+ Champion Material Flow (ELSS) for the plant and support PROlaunch projects to optimize warehouse footprint and maximize Production area.+ Oversee activities of the Material Schedulers to assure that customer delivery, manufacturing efficiency and plant inventory objectives are met, and that engineering change activities are effectively coordinated.+ Manage plant purchasing activities to comply with Eatons Supply Chain policies and cost effectively meet manufacturing requirements, while systematically ensuring continuity & quality of supply.+ Oversee creation, and maintenance of planning bills of material in Oracle to anticipate material requirements and lead times. Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth flow of materials, and monitor business trends and economic cycles in order to anticipate change in order flow from customers and material availability from suppliers.+ Systematically troubleshoot, analyze, identify and eliminate material inhibitors, cycle time detractors, and extraordinary cost associated with material procurement to optimize inventory levels and manufacturing schedule.+ Manage ERP materials systems (e.g. Oracle) and pull-systems, and implement & maintain processes & systems to monitor health.+ Actively support & lead PROLaunch projects to ensure quality/continuity/availability of required components to ensure seamless execution, performing functional work package approval as required.+ Serve as an active member of the site JHSC, and perform workplace inspections, Gemba (safety) walks, and Process Checks as assigned.+ Completing other duties/projects as required.When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we as individuals and as a company are stronger. QualificationsRequired (Basic) Qualifications:+ University Education from an accredited institution.+ Minimum five (5) years Supervisory experience+ Minimum five (5) years experience in a manufacturing, distribution center or supply chain+ No relocation is offered for this position.
