Position Overview:Eatons Power Quality Division is seeking an Operational Excellence Manager to join our team of world-class service professionals. This position is based in Raleigh, NC with allowance for remote work until COVID restrictions are lifted.Eatons Power Quality division designs, manufactures, and services Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, batteries, and electronic-based products to ensure power reliability in the most demanding applications. Our field service technicians deliver mission-critical solutions to our customers most challenging energy management requirements in a 24/7 environment.The Operational Excellence Manager is responsible for leading the execution and deployment of continuous improvement, product service engineering, training, business analytics, supply chain and digitalization/technology advancement across the Power Quality Division Service business. The Operational Excellence Manager will be a key member of the Service Senior Leadership Team with primary focus on the adoption of Eaton Business System (EBS) Pull strategy, Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF), and structured problem-solving to optimize Service operational performance.Essential Responsibilities:+ Provide leadership in executing the organizations strategic plan in relation to operational excellence consistent with industry, Eaton and customer requirements.+ Further enhance the use of systems/process improvements in relation to EBS, CIF, Eaton Lean Six Sigma (ELSS), and audits/assessments.+ Promote customer-focused culture; through enhance data analytics/business intelligence and feedback throughout the Service business.+ Develop, implement and track division continuous improvement projects focused on cost out through enhanced efficiency, consolidation of resources, waste reduction, etc. Establish cost-out targets to be included in Profit Plan.+ Provide senior leadership to the product service engineering, training, and documentation teams, providing the Division with comprehensive product portfolio service management, training and technical documentation.+ Provide senior leadership for Service digitization/technology enhancement programs and projects, including but not limited to 2021-2022 Service ERP implementation project, IoT, service automation and augmented reality. Lead efforts to establish roadmaps to identify and incorporate future technology enhancements in Service.+ Provide senior leadership for national operations programs, including technician on-the-job/mentor, commissions processing, fleet management, timecard system administrationPosition Criteria:+ Ability to communicate effectively to present positioning, objectives, and action plans to team, associates, management, and customers.+ Strong facilitation, communication, presentation skills for interaction with all levels within the organization.+ Identify and surface issues in a constructive manner and recommend solutions.+ Use creative and innovative approaches to find solutions; consider alternatives, calculate risks and makes well-informed decisions.+ Understanding of key financial metrics, contract negotiations and cost drivers.+ Strong process orientation and analytical skills.+ Working knowledge of business management systems (ERP, order management)+ Experience with Industry 4.0 technologies+ Financial acumen and experience with business case development+ Has led major initiatives across multiple sites and organizational boundaries QualificationsBasic Qualifications:+ Minimum of 7 years of experience leading formal strategic/annual planning, continuous improvement, and/or structured problem-solving projects in a manufacturing or service operations environment.+ Minimum 5 years managing cross functional projects and business-wide programs+ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorshipPreferred Qualifications:+ Lean Six Sigma strong background and experience+ Certified Black Belt from an accredited institution+ Experience in field service operations and/or leading a distributed workforce+ Experience in strategic and annual planningEducation:+ An undergraduate degree is required.
