Eatons eMobility Division is currently seeking a Software Program Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Southfield, Michigan facility.The primary role of the Software Program Manager includes overseeing embedded software project development from start to finish to deliver software on time, of high quality, in compliance with industry standards such as ISO 26262, and in alignment with the hardware development schedules of the associated products. Managing and motivating controls and software developers across the globe through clear and concise communication, goal setting and demonstrating good decision making amongst project ambiguity. Providing clear and effective customer communication through verbal and written forms, including presentations. Collaborating across time zones and engineering stakeholders to align schedules and dependencies to create a clear and accurate master software plan. In addition, project proposal/timing estimations for new project or RFQ type of activity.Essential functions:+ Tracking status of milestones, deliverables, and change requests from internal or external customers+ Planning and maintaining software milestone scope, resource allocation, milestone timing+ Owns and is accountable for project software deliverable outcomes+ laying out communication strategies for customer or internal leadership for changes to schedule/scope, achieved milestones, recovery plans and other pertinent information+ Creating a project budget for software Development and ensuring project stays on budget+ Experience with agile, iterative, waterfall and other software development methodologies+ Management of external suppliers deliverable timing and quality expectations.+ Maintain strict schedule alignment with the associated hardware development projects. QualificationsBasic Qualifications:+ Bachelors degree in information technology, software development management, software engineering, electrical engineering or a related field+ Minimum 5 years of proven experience in project management and embedded software development+ Proficient in Microsoft Project and Power point+ Strong attention to details and multi-tasking skills+ Knowledge of software quality assurance requirements (ex. Automotive SPICE) and how these requirements tie to the Quality Management System requirements (ex. IATF-16949) and the external auditing processes.Position Criteria:+ Experience with processes and tools for requirements management, change and configuration management.+ Experience with software test methodologies and tools and development of test plans for embedded systems.+ Excellent verbal and written communication in English with ability to clearly convey project status and timelines to senior leadership+ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to make presentations and work in group settings.+ Knowledge of functional safety and development processes compliant to safety standards (ex. ISO 26262, IEC 61508).We make what matters work.
