**Description:****Position Summary:**Penske is seeking an ambitious and inquisitive Accounting Manager to join our Controllership team. Penske is a leader in the transportation industry. We help move lives and businesses forward. The Controllership team is looking for an individual to provide best in class support through their expertise and fresh thinking. The Accounting Manager will work closely with the organization and various stakeholders in the preparation and review of external financial information and management reporting packages. This role also works with external auditors and valuation experts. In addition, this position will participate in special projects and lead and develop associates.**Major Responsibilities:** Prepare and review external quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards and reporting requirements Research existing disclosure requirements as well as emerging issues, pronouncements and practices in accounting and financial reporting to ensure compliance and to provide recommendations to senior management Manage quarterly reviews and annual audits with external auditors for financial statements Prepare and review board reporting and Audit Committee materials Prepare and review monthly accounting for employee benefit plans, including analyzing reports from valuation experts and making recommendations to senior management Prepare financial statements and manage annual audits with external auditors for employee benefit plans Supervise and develop associates Partner with business leaders and finance teams to identify and lead improvements in financial reporting and employee benefit plan accounting Establish rapport and build cooperative working relationships with relevant internal and external parties Lead and participate in special projects and other tasks as assigned**Qualifications:****Qualifications:** 7 years related experience demonstrating knowledge of financial reporting including disclosure requirements, financial statement analysis, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required Bachelor's degree in Accounting required CPA preferred Experience in public accounting, SEC reporting, and technical GAAP research preferred Supervisory experience required Strong organization, attention to detail and analytical skills required Strong communication, presentation and management skills required Strong team player and self-driven individual Strong time management skills for a fast-paced environment under strict reporting deadlines Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.**Physical Requirements:**-The physical and mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
