Work you'll do

As a Manager in the PEI CoE, you'll use your analytical, research and investigative skills to:

  • Work closely with PEI CoE Managing Directors and Senior Managers, Lead Client Service Partners, DTT Independence Directors, PEI Clients, Audit engagement teams, cross functional and cross boarder teams on independence matters associated to the PEIs and its portfolio companies involving but not limited to the following:
    • Affiliate considerations
      • Accuracy and Completeness of PEI tree
      • Evaluation of conflict check responses
      • on-going monitoring of M&A activities
      • Perform Materiality assessment analysis
      • Support engagement teams with affiliate related documentation for non-audit portfolio companies
      • Supervise DESC is timely and accurately updated
    • DESC Service Requests reviews
      • Review permissibility of DESC Service Requests under applicable ruleset
      • Engagement with ICN on matters requiring consultation
      • Engagement with Local Director of Independence as needed
    • Relationship considerations
      • Assessment and tracking of permissible relationships (i.e. Vendor Business Relationships, Market Business Relationships, etc.)
      • Engagement with Business Relationship team as needed
  • Assist in the further development of procedures, and implementing improvements, for the PEI CoE including but not limited to implementation of technology to streamline workflows
  • Supervise Independence Service Center (ISC) resources dedicated to the PEI CoE
  • Prepare materials containing PEI CoE information and PEI related independence considerations for use at conferences, meetings, and trainings

The team

The PEI CoE team performs a critical quality-assurance and risk-management function for the Deloitte US Firms, helping the organization remain unbiased and free from conflicts-of-interest, in fact and appearance, when providing service to attest/audit clients within a PEI complex. Independence requirements are defined by specific sets of policies, external rules and regulations, so maintaining both the independence of the Deloitte US Firms and its professionals is essential to the business and reputation of Deloitte.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelors' degree (preferably business, finance or accounting)
  • 5 - 8+ years of related experience
  • Strong oral and written communications
  • Outstanding attention to detail along with strong technical, organizational and analysis skills

Preferred:
  • An understanding of Independence requirements for professional auditing firms
  • Demonstrated team leadership competencies/experience
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
