What you will do

As the Market Insights Manager, you are the subject matter expert in the ASC market & customer. You will perform analyses and prepare forecasts and recommendations in the areas of customer product/service preferences, market penetration, market practices and sales trends. You will work in close partnership with Stryker’s divisional marketing insights teams and upstream marketing to develop research plans aligned to new product development efforts, business development, and support both primary and secondary research needs. This role will require you to gain cross-functional support for the research plans you develop. You will be a direct contributor to market assessments and marketing plans delivered to senior leadership, to develop business strategy.

  • Manage market research activities for new pipeline development by collaborating with Marketing, Business Development and Research & Development teams.
  • Lead the execution and publication of all routine Market Insights deliverables (such as the ASC FactBook & ASC business net promoter score), often cross-divisional and global in scale, including Market Modeling/Factbase.
  • Lead competitive intelligence processes, analysis, and insights to enable Portfolio and Brand Marketing to position company products and recommendations for product differentiation.
  • Effectively communicate ASC insights to Stryker’s ASC team and cross-divisional stakeholders on a consistent basis, staying ahead of the rapid market development.
  • Establish and manage protocol for collecting, analyzing and assimilating internal & external data
  • Initiate and establish Focus Groups for product VoC, feedback and innovation, and prioritizes other market research projects based on active needs of the ASC Marketing team & cross-divisional upstream/R&D teams
  • Collaborate with Government Affairs on reimbursement opportunities based on forecasted procedural shifts to the ASC.
  • Participate in Due Diligence process by leading market research focused for specific acquisition targets / organic product launches, and potential future white space portfolios to facilitate adoption and growth.
  • Effectively manage market research budget
  • Assist in creating the business unit strategic plan. Coordinate market research portion of annual planning process and update routinely.
  • Provide domain expertise on market and customer-centric research, serve as the in-house expert that mentors cross-functional peers and other Market Insights team members
  • Provide domain expertise to leadership in the selection of strategy consultants and design firms that serve the business on a contract basis, play an active role in facilitating these projects internally
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of financial statements, market modelling, and revenue projections to assist the portfolio and brand managers in creation of well supported financial projections
  • Champion Stryker's VOC 2.0 process as subject matter expert for ASC team

What you need

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or related discipline required
  • MBA preferred
  • 8+ years of work experience required
  • 5+ years medical device or marketing/sales experience preferred
  • 2+ years of people management experience preferred
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal communications skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong financial acumen related to conducting ROI, NPV, TCO and other analyses.
  • Ability to be persuasive in the absence of organizational authority
  • Must be able to understand and work within complex interdivisional procedures and policies
