What you will do-
You will manage, lead, and provide day to day direction to a Manufacturing Engineering group of an assigned business unit focused on production. You will develop strategies and proactively implement cost and process improvement initiatives. As the Engineering Manager you will coordinates Manufacturing Engineering activities in support of production and new product introduction requirements.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety, product quality and compliance with the Stryker, Quality Manual and its governing regulations
  • Identify and communicate group strategies and projects for the improvement of business performance
  • Lead and participate in periodic business metric reviews
  • Provide guidance and training to staff, assist employees in attaining career goals, motivate individuals to achieve results, and recruit and maintain a high-quality staff
  • Proactively review future technology needs and resources with appropriate technical skills
  • Proactively review process and manufacturing technologies to identify opportunities to better support manufacturing activities and the product development pipeline
  • Champion and drive appropriate and correct use of problem solving and continuous improvement tools to drive operations excellence within areas of responsibility and within the plant
  • Assist in and/or determine appropriate staff levels, schedules and resources. Work with other managers to understand priorities and plan resources and time allocation accordingly
  • Prioritize and manage execution of multiple department projects
  • Monitor and evaluate project and department progress and results

What you need-

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering
  • 8 years technical/professional experience in engineering or operations
  • 3 years people management experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of FDA Quality System Regulation and ISO 13485 requirements
  • Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing and operations methods and techniques
  • Knowledge and understanding of budgeting and budget control
  • Understanding of production and materials requirements planning and control
  • Understanding of team dynamics, and ability to maximize group results
  • Self-starter with the ability to accomplish tasks with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication (verbal & written) skills
  • Strong leadership skills with an ability to maintain a highly engaged team
  • Demonstrated interaction skills across multi-disciplinary functions
