What you will do-

You will partner with Transportation functional spend owners to deliver improved cost and service levels. You will lead and support supplier sourcing activities for assigned projects/commodities (e.g., carriers, 3PLs, corporate spend, consulting, capital projects, etc.). This is a hybrid role. The employee is expected to be physically present at a Stryker location on a cadenced basis but has the flexibility to work from.

Specific activities include:

  • Data collection and spend analysis

  • Market Research

  • The RFx process (also known as go-to-market)

  • Negotiations

  • Contracting

  • Implementation and continuous improvement

  • Drive supplier management/development activity

  • Support or lead ad-hoc projects as required

  • Work with functional spend owners and carriers to implement initiatives that drive improved performance

  • Work with cross functional teams to develop best in class strategic sourcing strategies for assigned suppliers and/or commodities in support of business objectives

  • Drive implementations of supplier and/or commodity strategy which will include spend/supply assessments, consolidation strategy, sourcing selection, financial and sourcing analyses

  • Develop a contract strategy for suppliers and create, negotiate, monitor, and enforce where applicable

  • Develop strong relationships with key suppliers as well as other disciplines within the businesses

  • Assure cost standards are established for annual operating budgets

What you need-

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, engineering, finance, or related field, required; MBA -preferred

  • 8+ years of relevant procurement working experience, with at least 5 years in a medium-large strategic procurement organization (or through large client work at a top-tier management consultancy), required

  • Sourcing/Supply Chain certifications (e.g., CPSM, Certified Professional in Supply Management), preferred

  • Leadership experience, preferred
