Our auditors have the opportunity to work across the company on a range of topics of company significance and can expect to interact with various leaders including senior leaders in BNSF.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is responsible for the development and management of risk assessments and audits focusing on operations, IT, and financial areas of BNSF. Key responsibilities include:

  • Development, management and evaluation of the appropriateness of the system of internal controls.
  • Evaluating compliance to BNSF / Federal rules and regulations.
  • Effectively develop strategies to minimize risk in the areas we audit.
  • Developing and coaching staff in audit methodologies ensuring up-to-date standards are maintained.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Minimum three years of accounting/finance, IT, operations or related experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MBA, CPA, CISA, CIA or another applicable certification(s) is a plus.
  • In-charge level audit experience, either public or private.
  • Detail oriented, conscientious, self-starter, having the ability to successfully balance multiple projects and priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (at all levels) with an ability to build strong, positive relationships with business partners
  • Experience managing projects using a project management methodology.
  • Ability to apply project management techniques, analytical techniques, programming or system query techniques.
