This position is located at our Fort Worth, Texas corporate office and has the potential to be a hybrid position with up to 50% remote work.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is part of a team responsible for the strategic sourcing and procurement activities supporting BNSF's Mechanical department with a primary focus on locomotive onboard technology. Key focus areas include supplier development, contract negotiations of all sizes, supplier relationship management, and supplier quality and total cost of ownership optimization. Roles will also need to set strategic vision and partner with stakeholders on capital plan & execution, innovation, critical commercial agreements, and assisting the field locations and material department on optimizing the Mechanical supply chain for BNSF.

The position leads cross-functional teams in identification and execution of Strategic Sourcing requirements, strategies, and process improvements, as well as support of internal stakeholders.

This position will be responsible for developing and executing supplier management and inventory strategies as well as people leadership, professional development, and project management.

Position interfaces closely with internal stakeholders in Mechanical, Operating Practices, Telecom, Network Control Systems, Finance, Sourcing, and Technology Services, as well as external suppliers and service providers.

Candidate must have strong leadership skills, excellent problem solving and analytical skills, and must be an effective communicator with both internal and external contacts. Excellent business partnership and relationship skills required. This position requires a self-starter who is willing and able to drive projects from concept to execution and drive innovative strategies to meet or exceed internal objectives.

Position may require some travel as needed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree

Minimum of 3 years of professional work experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's Degree

Railroad technology familiarization
