The Strategic Marketing leader for Government & Public Services (GPS) serves as a trusted advisor to business leaders and key stakeholders engaged in this high-growth industry. In this role, you will oversee the strategy, planning and execution of best-in-class, integrated marketing and communications campaigns that support GPS's portfolio of clients and markets. Our GPS clients include federal, state, and local government departments and agencies and higher education institutions.

As the leader of the GPS Strategic Marketing team, you will:

Define and Measure Marketing Strategy and Investment

  • Define, maintain, and drive prioritization of marketing activities for GPS, including our offering portfolios, sectors, and strategic, forward-looking solutions
  • Develop and drive fully integrated strategic marketing and communications activities that utilize the full spectrum of traditional and innovative marketing channels
  • Provide strategic counsel, idea generation and consultation in support of the growth agenda of the GPS leadership
  • Serve as marketing advisor to key stakeholders within the business; contribute to the articulation of value propositions; develop marketing objectives in support of key priorities; and serve as a key connection point across the firm
  • Consult with GPS leaders on national and local market sponsorship opportunities
  • Engage our internal agency on the successful execution of campaigns, and oversee the on-time and on-budget delivery of campaigns
  • Collaborate with the GPS Public Relations team to develop media strategies to drive more earned media coverage
  • Develop metrics and KPIs to assess campaign success at the campaign, activity, and channel levels to inform future campaign tactics

Lead the Strategic Marketing team
  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of GPS Strategic Marketers, including coaching of junior marketing members
  • Plan and manage campaign marketing budgets in conjunction with Campaign Management
  • Bring innovative thinking and marketing practices to all marketing activities

Stakeholder Management

Work with GPS leadership to ensure GPS Marketers deliver against the most strategic needs of the practice

Coordinate with Commercial and Cross-Business Marketers and pull-through leading practices and processes from across the firm

Qualifications

Required:
  • 15+ years of related marketing experience, with a focus on marketing and communications strategy and planning
  • Deep understanding of integrated marketing communications strategies and tactics and how they come together to provide measurable results
  • Team-oriented approach with ability to take initiative, prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously to meet stakeholder expectations and deadlines across multiple projects
  • Ability to interact and communicate across a variety of stakeholder groups (technical subject matter experts to business owners), with ability to present complex information in an easily understandable format and tailored to the audience
  • Strong persuasive skills and ability to gain consensus through influence
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills; flexibility and adaptability
  • Executive presence, professional client service manner
  • Ability to work in a matrixed organization with a virtual team, experience in large corporate setting and/or professional services a plus
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or related business field; Advanced degrees preferred
  • Travel up to 10% (while travel of up to 10% is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice.)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
