What you’ll be doing...

We are looking to add a sharp, passionate Senior DevOps Engineering Manager to build and grow the next generation of enterprise video communication cloud. You will work with a team of world-class engineering ninjas within BlueJeans, who are focused on building innovative & disruptive next gen enterprise video collaboration cloud.

In this role you will be responsible for providing leadership in the design, implementation and operation of the BlueJeans platform. This includes gathering requirements from all business units and implementing automated solutions to solve problems and make the business operate efficiently. Additionally, this role will actively participate in architecture and design sessions with members of the engineering and product management teams. Mentoring, team building and collaboration are also critical as the Tools team grows and matures. You will also play a critical role in the development lifecycle and the product offerings.

As the Senior DevOps Engineering Manager you will play an integral role in establishing our build & release automation strategies. You will be responsible for interfacing with the application development teams and ensure the build and release requirements are addressed throughout the development lifecycle for the BlueJeans cloud service that is deployed globally on our own servers co-located in data centers as well using 3rd party cloud service providers.

  • Participate in the Agile DevOps design, development, testing, and release of new capabilities and features with focus on release and post-production support.
  • Evaluate moving parts of our on-prem build and CI workflow to secure cloud-based providers.
  • Review, analyze and recommend tools and processes to improve and automate workflow.
  • Lead a team of DevOps engineers, balanced between application support, release management, and project work.
  • Own the configuration and escalation process for monitoring and alerting.
  • Partner with organizational infrastructure and security teams to assure compliance.
  • Partner with QA, Product, AppDev, and other tech teams to reduce support, find efficiencies, increase performance, and educate on best practices.
  • Troubleshooting problems, involving the appropriate resources and driving resolution of issues with a focus on minimizing impact to our customers.
  • Administrate internal tools, such as Atlassian JIRA Server, Bitbucket Server, Confluence Server and Crucible as well as the integration between them.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • DevOps Manager or related experience with gradually increasing responsibilities and a demonstrated understanding of DevOps and technical quality control processes, artifacts and tools.
  • Experience in AWS (EC2, RDS, SQS, SNS, S3, Lambda).
  • Experience architecting containerized environments for micro-services.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, Masters.
  • Supported cloud services for a web company.
  • Experience working in an agile environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, problem solve collaboratively, and build consensus across teams.
  • Experience managing database. MySQL/Postgres.
  • Experience working and managing docker registry, maven, nuget, npm repositories.
  • Experience in Jenkins administration and Jenkins pipeline.
  • Experience managing Atlassian tools. Prior experience managing JIRA.
  • Experience with Unix administration.
  • Experience with shell scripting. At a minimum, be able to debug Java, python, groovy, node and make.
  • Working knowledge of Git, Nginx, Slack integration, Mercurial.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
