Job Summary

Amentum is now hiring a Training Manager for its Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD location.

Key Job Duties and Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for defining, developing and implementing the overall program training requirements required to execute New Equipment Training (NET) and provide sustainment training capabilities for an Army weapon system program.
  • Leads the development of required training materials in coordination with the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), third party support integrators, TRADOC and other key stakeholders.
  • Assists with the development of Statement of Works (SOWs) and Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs) required to ensure that necessary training materials are developed and delivered for the program through established contract vehicles.
  • Provides inputs for the program Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and supports requests for information in support of briefings, white papers, and other actions related to the programs training requirements.
  • Ensures consistent application of training standards across the programs training instructors using approved training materials and products.
  • Plans, evaluates, organizes, and develops training curricula and materials to meet specific training needs.
  • Supervises the conduct of new or special courses designed for training selected groups of instructors and/or to operator/maintainers of program equipment. May facilitate training during introduction of new courses.
  • Tracks and analyzes training programs by examining student's satisfaction levels, proficiency testing, and job performance.
  • Administers improvements or changes to training programs to enhance the programs' effectiveness.
  • The candidate will have hands-on experience with U.S. Army programs and their related training requirements. Preferably the candidate should be familiar with satellite communications and Network Baseband operations. In particular, the candidate having familiarity with the Transportable Tactical Command Communications (T2C2) and Scalable Class of Unified Terminals (SCOUT) suites of equipment would be valued experience.
  • Must possess the training, technical credentials and experience to develop the required training materials for the target audience. These include but are not limited to Programs of Instruction, Test Packages, Instructional Media Packages, Lesson Plans, Student Training Guides, Course Completion Reports, Sustainment Training Packages and any required Interactive Multimedia Instruction that is eventually developed.
  • Must be able to deploy to an austere environment in support of military units for durations as required to meet program training requirements.
  • Must be a pro-active, energetic, assertive individual with an attention to detail and a willingness to do what is necessary to exceed customer expectations within the scope of contract requirements.
  • Individual must be a self-starter with the ability to function autonomously while working in various locations with little or no direct supervision.
  • Must be comfortable interacting with peers and superiors.
  • An ability to maintain a professional relationship with co-workers and the customer at all times is required.


Minimum Requirements

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent with 5-10 years’ experience of training manager experience, either in a US Army or other service program office for C4ISR or related weapon systems (ACAT 1 thru 3) with 5+ years’ demonstrated expertise in writing and/or coordinating the development acquisition related logistics documentation.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must have effective written and verbal communications
  • Position requires 25% travel.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a government Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree Preferred
  • Prior education/experience developing Army TRADOC certified Training Materials preferred
