What you’ll be doing...

You’ll be responsible for driving customer success and insights programs in the public sector field marketing organization in Verizon Business Group (VBG). You’ll collaborate with groups across the shared marketing functions to drive programs across all six segments of the business (Federal DoD, Federal Civilian, State and Local - large and small entities, and education) in the realm of events, sponsorships/memberships/associations, partner marketing programs, case studies, thought-leadership, speaking engagements and other showcases for customer success. You’ll also help with the marketing program budgeting, opening purchase orders, CIDs and interacting regularly with the Finance Team. The role can also extend to competitive insights gathering across the business unit and sharing them with others in VBG.

  • Maximize the effectiveness of public sector marketing programs showcasing customer success through events, webinars, partner marketing initiatives and other relevant tactics.
  • Work with the segment marketing team to align with the strategy for each sub-segment.
  • Support industry events in alignment with sub-segment priorities, gain market insights and execute activations including speaking engagements and PR interviews (in collaboration with the communications team).
  • Provide operational coordination across the entire public sector field marketing organization.
  • Manage budget and resources to meet the overarching strategic priorities of the public sector field marketing organization (reconcile financials, track budget in an ongoing way, create and manage POs/CIDs, VCards, track invoices, work with team members on appropriate executive documentation for budget).
  • Monitor a set of key metrics that aligns marketing objectives with the underlying drivers of the business.
  • Drive the creation of materials based on case studies, webinars, events strategies, partner marketing requirements in collaboration with the shared marketing organization.
  • Support NPS programs in VBG for public sector.
  • Leverage partners, associations and other consortiums to engage with customers and bolster Verizon’s solutions and thought-leadership.
  • Develop recruitment strategy to identify customers as references and establish a group of stakeholders to contribute to a successful reference program (i.e. Sales Operations, Fed & SLED Sales Managers, SGA, Domain Experts, BD, Proposal Management, Communications, Events, Legal).

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Three or more years of experience in marketing or marketing operations/finance.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Master’s degree in business or related field.
  • Experience with public sector or government market.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, including a proven ability to communicate with senior business leaders.
  • Experience in events marketing, partner marketing, customer success programs, webinars, PR and communications, preferably involving complex organizations requiring influence that extends outside the marketing realm.
  • Managing budgets and resources against strategic priorities.
  • Communicating cross-functionally.
  • Influencing key stakeholders across complex organizations.
  • Familiarity with Verizon and competitors’ offerings to position Verizon as the trusted partner for public sector agencies.
