When you join Verizon

Verizon is one of the world’s leading providers of technology and communications services, transforming the way we connect across the globe. We’re a diverse network of people driven by our shared ambition to shape a better future. Here, we have the ability to learn and grow at the speed of technology, and the space to create within every role. Together, we are moving the world forward – and you can too. Dream it. Build it. Do it here.

What you’ll be doing...

The Modification Manager will be joining our Public Sector Contract Lifecycle Management team, part of the Verizon Public Sector Contract Strategy & GWAC Center of Excellence. Managing contract modifications for Federal IDIQ contracts is how we support Verizon proposals and follow-on orders. Verizon Mod Managers interact directly with government representatives from the General Services Administration (GSA), other customers Agencies and internal Verizon groups (e.g. pricing, contracts & PMO).
Mod Managers support account and program management teams by efficiently preparing and submitting mods to GSA, communicating with GSA regularly throughout the evaluation process for status updates, and discussing problems or issues if they arise. Mod Managers also meet regularly with a number of internal teams to ensure that the products/services being proposed in contract mods can be supported internally. This is a critical component, as all CLINs must be supportable prior to being proposed. We are looking for someone who will pull the thread. If given little information and asked to produce a specific result, the ideal candidate will take ownership, ask questions, perform independent research, make new relationships, coordinate meetings, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with multiple internal teams in a matrixed organization to prepare contract modification packages, complete internal reviews, prepare documents, and submit in a federal government system
  • Update internal databasesystems with the latest modification information
  • Attend regular meetings, both internal and customer-facing with agency representatives
  • Work with internal teams and government representatives, facilitating meeting when necessary, to resolve discussion issues
  • Review and analyze contract tables to help resolve system-generated errors
  • Arrange and lead internal and external meetings, as needed, to address issues as they arise

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with the Federal Government.
  • Knowledge of Federal contracts, specifically GSA IDIQ contract vehicles.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree
  • Strong relationship building and problem resolution skills.
  • Ability to schedule, host and run meetings with internal and external attendees; ensuring that the agenda is met and all objectives are accomplished.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills and capable of managing multiple documents at once.
  • Intermediate/Expert level experience in Google Suite (Drive, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides), Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and make decisions to bring an issue to resolution.
  • Proven experience project managing in a matrixed organization
  • Proposal management/writing or contract management.
  • Understanding of telecom industry and technical knowledge.
