Looking for individual to join dynamic team focused on bi-directional exchange of health care data to support value-based care. The business analyst, clinical data analytics will need to proactively engage with Optum Clinical Connect team to support our business initiatives. Purpose of this position is to engage in activities that ultimately supports the objectives of our Optum Clinical Data Acquisition team. You will engage with business and product operation leaders to provide value, reporting and analytics, financial analysis and consult on business decision making.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manipulate, analyze, and interpret large amounts of data using Access, Excel, SQL, and VBA
  • Automate processes and reports
  • Recognize inefficiencies in processes (operational or technical)
  • Design solutions to address vendor, client and billing issues
  • Pull ad hoc reports from various data systems
  • Perform data validation to ensure accuracy and quality
  • Data mining for advanced analysis of data presented in reports for management
  • Lead the advancement of reporting and analytics
  • Provide detailed modeling and reporting to facilitate executive-level decision making
  • Compile and analyze contract level detail across business to inform leadership on business health, growth, and prospective sales
  • Simplify existing processes to reduce complexity, increase transparency and replicability
  • Analyze sales and contract data to create point-in-time reporting and forecast information to drive business objectives
  • Partner with business across the organization to create detailed pricing models and provide precise deal profitability analysis
  • Maintain intricate working forecast documents to track progress versus forecast in real time
  • Create visual representations of sales pipeline data to consult leadership on total contract value and revenue targets
  • Communicate business viability, financial levers, and model structure to executive level leadership
  • Engage leadership across multiple lines of business to understand challenges and opportunities throughout the organization

Required Qualifications:

  • BS/BA Degree in Business OR Finance AND 3 years of work experience
  • 3+ years working with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • 2 + years of experience in in the Healthcare/IT Industry (Payer/Hospitals Clinical information systems)
  • 2+ years of working on impactful projects that reach measurable financial goals
  • 2+ years of experience of achieving customer/client-oriented metrics
  • 2+ years of experience, investigating and research skills
  • 1+ years of business and data analyst skills
  • Experience implementing cross-functional initiatives

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years working with Access or other Databases
  • 2+ years of experience of creating and delivering presentations
  • 1+ years supporting meetings with high levels in the healthcare market (CEO, COO, CIO, CFO level)
  • 1+ year of program/project management with measurable deliverables
  • Background in financial analysis and/or the healthcare industry

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $66,100 to $118,300. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $72,800 to $129,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
