Primary Responsibilities:

  • Consult with stakeholders and users on complex projects to identify current business procedures and clarify project objectives
  • Actively create a collaborative environment and influence people to move toward a common goal
  • Build strong working relationships with other team members and customers
  • Able to break down complex problems and issues, is a consensus builder, and brings people and teams together to support a work environment in which people are able to perform to the best of their abilities
  • Act as a senior leader on the project team to create, interpret and apply organizational processes and recommends improvements
  • Identify current business procedures and assist in clarify project objectives
  • Build strong working relationships with other team members and customers
  • Conduct meetings and presentations to communicate information effectively and in the appropriate form to customers, business users and technical staff
  • Partner with project stakeholders to ensure the project requirements are communicated and facilitates the process to capture and prioritization the requirements
  • Provide analysis of business challenges and apply problem solving skills to meet business needs
  • Creatively translates information using business knowledge and identify additional information needed to support business objectives
  • Interact with customers to define information for solution needs and ask the right questions to surface essential requirements information
  • Monitor and track multiple projects and the associated tasks simultaneously and cope with rapidly changing information and circumstances
  • Participate in the presentation of information to customer and internal business areas
  • Creates project documentation which may include Business Requirements Documents, AS-IS and TO-BE Process Flow and Data Flow diagrams, Solution Design Specifications, Test Plans, Test Cases and Use Cases
  • Appropriately escalates functional, quality, and other project issues
  • Maintains a clear understanding of the mission and goals for the role and department
  • Ability to effectively work in a matrixed organization, aligning and developing an outstanding relationship with the IT Project Manager
  • Travel up to 25% required

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree, or 3+ years of work experience in IT Business Analysis
  • 1+ year of expereince using LEAN/Six Sigma or LEAN/Six Sigma certification
  • 2+ years of experience translating initiatives into actions through a thoughtful, organized and well-planned approach and use cases
  • 2 years of experience initiating conversations with both business and technology leaders within the organization, as well as the ability to translate business issues and requirements into technical solutions
  • 2+ years of experience mapping business process, gathering requirements, writing technical requirements/business documents, and managing technical/functional requirements and traceability documents
  • 2+ years of experience working with internal development teams, as well as external third party vendors
  • Travel up to 25% required


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Utilizing critical thinking, analysis and making valid recommendations
  • Experience identifying problems and making recommendations/decisions on the best course of action to remediate
  • Using analytical and problem solving skills to analyze problems and resolve issues quickly and methodically
  • Experience using verbal and written communication skills to engage and interact with customers and stake holders
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
