Enterprise Clinical Performance (ECP) is charged with effectively implementing, monitoring, and executing on clinical documentation and quality programs that promote patient health while improving the provider practice experience with a special focus on Medicare Risk Adjustment and HEDIS. ECP processes on a national level by providing support in all markets served by OptumCare Delivery & OptumCare Services.

This position will report into the Enterprise Clinical Performance Director- Senior Community Care and will be responsible for cultivating relationships and driving implementation of Risk Adjustment & Quality initiatives for OptumCare Services organizations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Primary support resource for the Senior Community Care Director of Operations
  • Serve as point of contact for Senior Community Care and organization leadership and staff
  • Supporting Senior Community Care deliverables as it relates to Risk Initiatives – specifically,
    • Leverage best practices from existing programs to create customized, scalable solutions for new products
    • Use analytics to drive performance towards coding accuracy improvement
    • Work with Health Care Economics partners to develop progress reports and report to Leadership
  • Support new programs and initiatives launched within Senior Community Care related to internal and external clients
  • Interpret and manage reports that lead to actionable approaches by multiple segments of the business including operationally and clinically focused leaders
  • Lead/facilitate meetings to drive execution of initiatives
  • Drive delivery and maintain project plan timelines
  • Ensure prompt escalation of challenges/issues that will impact the business and initiative delivery
  • Partner with internal ECP team to provide tools and materials for Senior Community Care
  • Collaborate with peers to maintain Senior Community Care knowledge across the team

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of solid Project Management experience and successful project delivery
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good understanding of Project Management methodology and best practices
  • Previous experience in successfully delivering on Operational projects in a matrixed environment
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment to deliver on Clinical Risk and Quality initiatives
  • Ability to influence and work with internal and external stakeholders/resources to move projects and programs forward and overcome any challenges
  • Confident personality with a keen sense of ownership and accountability and a “can do” attitude
  • Ability to manage to timelines and escalate issues as appropriate
  • Ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects and help manage project resources
  • Comfortable with the development of report outs and presentation to management
  • Good organization and comprehension capabilities
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Good Understanding of data management best practices and manipulation
  • Proficient in large dataset management in Microsoft Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with CMS 5 Star, HEDIS, Risk Adjustment, and government pay for performance programs a plus
  • Ability to build strong relationships across a variety of stakeholders
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $66,100 to $118,300. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $72,800 to $129,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
