Overview The Business Intelligence Engineer in the Network Business Intelligence organization works in a fun, challenging, and fast-paced environment using Agile methodologies to author SQL logic and construct Tableau dashboards in support of a variety of initiatives originating from the IT and Engineering organizations. Our team owns the Tableau Server environments here at Windstream and support of those environments is an important component of our mission. There will be opportunities to assist in the Admin role, and in content management. This position uses analytical skills and a data driven approach to inform and support key initiatives which are pivotal to the evolution of both Windstream’s network and business model. Responsibilities - Build strong relationships and collaborate with partners across the Business to help solve organizational challenges and to provide high quality data and analytical tools to assist with making data informed decisions. - Develop SQL. - Author new and support existing Tableau workbooks. - Collect, manipulate and analyze large sets of data from multiple sources to identify trends, connect findings, and make cohesive and creative recommendations that support the organization’s goals. - Create effective and easy to understand reporting solutions (i.e. dashboards, metrics, reports). - Build reusable code and libraries for future use. - Manage projects through to completion. - Manage work through Agile tools/methodology, collaborative repositories, issue tracking platforms, and wikis. Qualifications Essential Skills - Strong SQL capabilities, DML/DDL (PL-SQL, T-SQL, etc) - Strong Tableau skills - Strong communications and collaboration skills; ability to easily convey messages to different audience - Highly organized and meticulous - Self-starter, relentlessly curious, resourceful, collaborative, and inventive - Drive to succeed and improve personally to add value to the role, team, and company - Positivity, and the desire to solve problems in elegant and creative ways Desired Skills - Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git - Experience with any of the following platforms- JIRA - Confluence - MS Office Suite - Agile Planning understanding - Strong Metasolv experience and understanding of Equipment and Circuit Modeling - Previous telecom experience and telecommunications networking understanding Experience - 3 or more years experience with Business Intelligence software (E.g., Tableau, SAP Crystal Reports, Qlik) - 3 or more years authoring SQL - Experience working with large, disparate data sets - Bachelors Degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field Working Conditions - This position is a full-time role. - You will be provided a laptop, monitors, and peripherals. - We are a geographically distributed company with a well-designed remote working culture built on trust.
