As a Sr. Business Systems Analyst on the Ancillary & Individual (A&I) Tech team, you will work on efforts to create and deliver high quality system solutions for our applications, products and services across all technology functions in support of the A&I Chief Information Officer (A&I CIO). You will consult with users and technology specialists to define business processes and the information systems for supporting those processes. You will also serve as a liaison to understand and refine business requirements amongst multiple lines of business within A&I Tech. In this role, you will work together in a cohesive manner, enforcing standards and methods consistently across the enterprise. You will support both current system improvements and maintenance along with new system development. You will work on a fast-paced, highly functioning team and provide coaching, leadership and problem-solving support.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Solicit, review and analyze business requirements
  • Consider how to reduce dependencies between teams
  • Use findings to evaluate different courses of action and their impacts to organization
  • Write business and technical requirements as needed
  • Communicate and validate requirements with stakeholders
  • Identify applicable security/data standards when reviewing requirements and recommend controls to ensure compliance
  • Validate solution meets business needs
  • Apply technology solutions and options to enable business solutions
  • Partner and collaborate, with consumer-centric mindset, in A&I to ensure strategic alignment on initiatives
  • Lead and facilitate executive level activities including identifying, tracking, reporting and facilitating calls for various initiatives including metrics, reporting, dashboards, etc.
  • Familiar with Agile terminology and practices and able to communicate to various levels of the organization
  • Use Agile metrics to drive execution decisions
  • Maintain a working knowledge of data collection, research methods and metrics (E.g.: OKRs, Agile, MBOs, etc.)
  • Knowledge of the various platforms, data sources and reports available
  • Collaborate with leaders and A&I teams to understand where challenges exist
  • Identify and formulate paths of the escalation and offer recommendations on how to resolve
  • Perform administrative tasks as needed to support A&I delivery teams
  • Creation of content for A&I tech including documentation, presentation, online content etc.
  • Proficient in enterprise collaboration tools including MS Teams, SharePoint, Prism, etc.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and self-service of ongoing manual efforts

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Scrum teams
  • IT Project Management experience and/or Agile experience
  • Experience with Rally/Aha or similar tools
  • Experience working with offshore teams
  • Experience working with dynamic, highly collaborative teams, requiring close consultation and coordination
  • Experience presenting to senior level executives
  • Experience leading through ambiguity
  • Excellent MS Office Skills (Yammer, Including Team, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Forms)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge in SharePoint


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing dashboards and reporting from Rally
  • Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Automated testing
  • Experience working with multiple teams and stakeholders
  • Knowledge of Scalable Agile Framework
  • Exposure to healthcare industry
  • Budget tracking and complex cost benefit analysis
  • Project Management skills
  • Video creation

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
