As a Senior Business Analyst with Octo, you will join an Agile program responsible for the development, maintenance, security, and operational support of new and existing applications. As a Business Analyst, you will be responsible for collaborating with the Product Owner, SMEs, and stakeholders to analyze tasks and requests to create User Stories with Acceptance Criteria. You will also manage the Sprint Backlog and lead Sprint Demos and participate in all major program ceremonies. Program Mission...

This program will support the agency’s Information Technology mission to provide development and operational support of new and existing legacy mission-enabling applications. The team will work to modernize current applications by breaking them down into loosely coupled micro-services and leveraging a continuous integration / continuous delivery pipeline to enable an agile DevOps Strategy.

Years of Experience: 8+ years of relevant experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience (preferred)

Clearance: U.S. Citizen | Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust



Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Manage the product backlog and design artifacts in JIRA and Confluence
  • Facilitate collection of user feedback mechanism and metrics tracking
  • Translate customer needs and requirement into Epics, Features, and User Stories
  • Maintain requirements traceability
  • Support Business Process Modeling, and Human Centered Design activities
  • Work directly with the development teams to clarify requirements
  • Translate user stories into test cases and support QA/testing activities
  • Support organizational change strategy and artifacts to support a smooth system roll-out
  • Develop executive briefing artifacts and info-graphics/diagrams
  • Support daily/weekly/quarterly Agile ceremonies
  • Must be able to comply with Executive Order No 13991
  • Clearance: U.S. Citizen | Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Experience working in a SAFe Agile environment
  • Technical understanding to connect technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Innovative thinking – ability to learn new tools and techniques and apply them to the program
  • Exposure to Human Centered Design, UX research, and usability testing
