Position Summary:
The Senior Business Analyst (Sr. BA) is responsible for understanding business needs and processes and to act as a partnered liaison between the business (R&D, Regulatory and/or Quality) and the technical IT team. The Sr. BA will be responsible for providing knowledge and expertise to IT, the business and process owners in identifying opportunities for technology and supporting prioritization. Additionally, the Sr. BA is responsible for building strong collaborative relationships with the R&D, Regulatory and/or Quality teams in our Medical division.

This is a terrific opportunity to influence business processes, through eliciting and documenting requirements and coordinating communication among various business groups and IT technical teams. Creates testing methodology and criteria. Designs and coordinates a curriculum for coaching and training customers to enhance business decision-making capability. The job provides technical guidance and direction for his/ her area of specialization. The job requires good analytical skills as well as evaluative judgement based on the analysis of factual and qualitative information in complicated or novel situations.

Essential duties & responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong relationship with the Medical Divisional teams and functional teams.
  • Partner with business and technical teams to drive consensus on the best solution to business problems and the delivery of new solutions and enhancements.
  • Improve the business analysis function through best practices, process management, mentoring, and education.
  • Define tangible use cases that align desired technology output to commercial objectives.
  • Recommend business process and system changes to improve efficiency and business outcomes.
  • Ensure clear communication between business stakeholders and IT technical teams.

Education & special trainings:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Bachelor’s in Business Administration or Computer Information Systems preferred
  • Qualification in Business Analysis or equivalent preferred

Qualifications & experience:

  • Minimum 4 years of professional experience required
  • Experience with R&D, Regulatory and/or Quality systems (e.g. Pilgrim, Agile, MasterControl, WindChill, SAP, Plateau, TrackWise, etc) a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization structure with significant emphasis on collaboration and persuasion, rather than relying entirely on command and control.
  • Experience with process mapping is required.
  • Experience documenting complex processes and presenting them in a clear and understandable format is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand, evaluate and recommend changes to business processes is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with business representatives at all levels to identify needs, define and document requirements, and drive solutions.
  • Experience in identifying opportunities for process optimization, process redesign, or development of new process/policies.
  • Experience working with high level business stakeholders is required.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Agile Development methodologies is preferred.
