What you’ll be doing...

As the Business Intelligence Consultant, with your analytical, big data and reporting expertise, you will deliver business value through reporting and analytics by driving insights to actions. One way you will accomplish this is by developing analytical views of data utilizing various BI tools such as Tableau, Qlik, Looker, Thought Spot, and proprietary web-based applications. You’ll also connect various data locations to stage data before visualizations. The business insights and recommendations you provide will help to improve performance.

  • You will act as a business enablement catalyst across multifunctional teams and be responsible for building innovative solutions by performing comprehensive data analysis using cutting-edge data science and machine learning techniques
  • Build automated visual reports which provide insights by looking at trends over time or anomalies by geography or by channel.
  • Participate on cross-functional project teams to identify critical items required from a reporting perspective.
  • Perform thorough data analysis, uncover opportunities, and address business problems ,interpret business requests and translate that into reporting capabilities.
  • Prepare concise, comprehensive and level-appropriate reports and presentations in a visualization tool such as Qlik, Tableau, Thoughtspot
  • Strategize, oversee, document, resource plan and define scope on multiple projects with evolving timelines in various stages of completion.
  • Document and demonstrate solutions by developing wireframes, production documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, and models.
  • Review existing visualizations to assess existing opportunities for improvement within the business and to drive a best-in-class User Interface solution.
  • Summarize, group, and visualize data sets and information for management and executive review utilizing Digital tools.
  • Leverage data visualization toolsets to provide single source data availability to multiple user communities.
  • Continue to identify opportunities to enhance data analysis, reporting efficiency and methodology..
  • Analyze and build data science solutions that drive product effectiveness, personalization, and operational efficiencies across projects in Finance.

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research, or other Quantitative Fields or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience building E2E scalable mid to large size business intelligence (BI) solutions (data sets, queries, reports, dashboards, analyses – or components of larger solutions to answer business questions with data)
  • Hands-on experience in developing best-in-class Visualization and self-serve analytical tools including Qlik, Thoughtspot, Plotly (Dash) that adhere to industry design standards
  • Experience handling large volumes of data across multiple platforms including traditional (Teradata, Oracle) and Cloud-Based (Google Cloud, AWS) for scalable and efficient BI solutions
  • Strong Programming experience in SQL, use advanced SQL queries to extract data to support data analysis, and Knowledge of R/Python
  • Experience with design and implementation of ETL framework for complex data platforms using at least two of Talend, Informatica, Knime, Alteryx
  • Experience collaboratingwith team members to understand reporting requirements and create datasets Develop R/Python automation scripts for thoughtspot/ Qlik dashboards

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Knowledge in Legacy Applications such as SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS.
  • Experience with design and implementation of ETL framework for complex data platforms using at least two of Talend, Informatica, Knime, Alteryx
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience investigating and solving complex technical problems and data discrepancies.
  • Experience working with Business Intelligence systems to provide diagnostic self-serve information to clients and business units.
  • Extensive knowledge of VBG DW data domains and data.
  • Project management experience.
  • Ability to develop solutions that align tactical solutions with strategic goals.
  • Ability to lead and facilitate cross functional teams of managers and directors to gain consensus and execute to deliver results.
  • Experience in process and requirements documentation.
  • Knowledge of analytics platforms and augmented intelligence platforms.
  • Ability to work without close supervision and can communicate and manage priorities effectively to meet deliverables.
