  • Act as liaison between an organization’s development team and end users, responsible for determining the user stories of a product prior to its release. Partners with key subject matter experts (SMEs) to deliver value add enhancements to existing capabilities.
  • Partners with Capability Owners/Managers to understand capability roadmap, spanning business use cases, features and user stories – Supports product lifecycle from planning through release, includes product roadmap, product ideation, validation of market opportunity and business case, product definition, product build, operational readiness, launch and post launch performance management and adoption.
  • Participates in technology evaluation and selection, understanding business requirements to ensure the right technical tools are brought forward that align with UHG’s enterprise technology strategy.
  • Responsible for supporting the features & user stories in a state of “ready” in the backlog at all times. Supports User Stories and acceptance criteria for easy comprehension by the development team, ensuring stories get to ready status. Includes establishing acceptance criteria for easy comprehension by the development team and proactive participation in end user testing.
  • Participates in all capability planning activities (e.g. PI Planning, PMC, Sprint Planning) to ensure development team is prepared for upcoming work. Supports Sprint Reviews/Demos on behalf of senior capability leaders as well as business customers who are leveraging the product. Participates in scrum meetings, often daily, to give feedback on development items.

  • Experience in analysis of business processes and workflows, and providing evaluations, benchmarks, and/or process improvement recommendations
  • Experience using Agile software development project(s)
  • Experience with tracking, planning, working on software development projects
  • Previous Business Analyst work on software development project(s)
  • Intermediate Level Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, OneNote,SharePoint and PowerPoint)


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Health Administration or related field
  • Agile Product Owner Certification
  • Experience in project/program leadership highly desirable
  • ServiceNow experience highly desirable
  • Experience in a large matrix environment
  • CA Agile (formerly known as Rally), Aha, or equivalent agile deployment technology
  • Healthcare Industry Experience
  • Six Sigma experience desirable
  • Experience in Automation, AI/ML, OCR and complex integration
