Risk and Financial Advisory Corporate Development Senior Consultant

Advisory Corporate Development is looking for a high performing Senior Consultant level resource to support the evaluation and analysis of investment opportunities as part of the Advisory Corporate Development team on a full-time basis

Work you'll do:

The Senior Consultant role works with CD on proactive pursuit of high priority acquisition areas that support the inorganic growth strategy of Advisory, evaluates reactive opportunities and manages active projects. This role will work on teams composed of full-time Advisory Corporate Development leadership (SM/M) and project resources on a day-to-day basis and report into Advisory Corporate Development senior and executive leadership.

The Senior Consultant will work on large scale investments including acquisitions, divestitures and other strategic growth priorities. Specific responsibilities of the role will include:

• Supporting development of inorganic growth strategies for practice areas prioritized for investment; leading focused workstreams and analyses
• Market landscape analysis
• Targeting and screening of potential acquisitions

• • Supporting stages of the acquisition process including:
    Development of strategic rationale for investment (market analysis, competitive analysis, business model development)
  • Constructing the financial business case for investment
  • Commercial due diligence planning and execution
  • Development of documents for governance approval

• Data interrogation and financial analysis
• Financial modeling including development of complete prospective financial statements
• Evaluating alternative operating model and business model considerations
• Developing strong personal brand for acquisition process and analytical expertise with practice leadership
• Supporting development of executive presentations to present a compelling analysis and case for/against investment
• Process / program management and coordination of efforts across multiple stakeholders?

• Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting
• 2-4+ years of Buy side Banking, Corporate Development, or Strategy Consulting experience
• Experience in data analysis and financial modeling including:
  • Business case development
  • DCF Modeling
  • Financial statement analysis and construction
  • Financial planning and analysis
• Strong communication and relationship building skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Self-motivated, results oriented and able to work independently, and cooperatively within a team
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
• Ability to travel up to 10% (While up to 10% of travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice)

• Location: Candidates can live anywhere within the US
• MBA or other relevant advanced qualifications
• Interest and aptitude in learning strategic frameworks and analyses to evaluate business problems
• Logical structuring
• Hypothesis based analysis
• Experience with common methods and tools for interrogating business data
• Able to tell a compelling business story through analysis
• Experience throughout the acquisition lifecycle with a focus on acquisition strategy, strategic and financial analysis and due diligence are a plus but not required
• Interest in high-growth emerging technology areas: e.g., Cyber Security, Cloud, Internet of Things
