Position Summary:

The Director of Business Operations Delivery will be responsible for establishing and driving operational excellence in supply chain services across relevant Partner Schools, District Partnerships and Pearson Online Academy customers. The role holder will be accountable for working on demand planning, procurement and fulfillment of digital and physical materials, procurement and planning of state testing administration, new school launch and facilities coordination. Within Virtual Schools, this role will work across Sales, Product, Enrollment Services, Pearson Operations and Technology to delivering scalable processes and services, enabling significant growth and improved customer experience for the business. The cost base managed by this role is $50m. The Director of Business Operations Delivery will be tasked for building a high-performing team and identifying opportunities to improve key operations within the department. The role reports directly to the VP, Virtual Schools Business Operations & Finance.

The responsibilities of the Directory of Business Operations Delivery will include:

  • Design and implementation of delivery standards for student technology, physical materials, and digital assets service offerings to customers, includes shipping costs for outbound and return goods.
  • Partner with Sales, Product and School Success to agree on standard models and leverage NA Operations supply chain capabilities to deliver improvements in quality, scalability and effectiveness of demand planning, asset management and fulfilment practices.
  • Define and closely monitor all supply chain metrics to ensure quality of service and positive outcomes in line with service level agreements with the customers.
  • Accountable for demand plan with target accuracy and improvements, ensuring structured approach to gathering inputs from Sales and Product teams.
  • Develop and implement procurement standards for student materials with 3rd party vendor(s). Leveraging Pearson scales and best practices. Monitor adherence to standards by Product and Customer Success.
  • In partnership with Virtual Schools Product & Portfolio, Technology and NA/HE Operations develop a plan and a business case to modernize current practices with enterprise technology solutions.
  • Partner with Customer Success team to develop standards and delivery for state testing procurement activities.
  • Partner with Pearson Facilities to set up standards, intake process, and emergency management protocols for Partner School and Maryland corporate offices.
  • Monitor performance to proactively identify efficiency issues and propose solutions
  • Provide regular performance updates to the Virtual Schools leadership team

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • 5-10 years of experience leading Supply Chain function in highly matrixed environment.
  • Demonstrated track record in developing and improving operational processes at scale, including process improvements, forecasting accuracy, service level optimization all with a continuous improvement mindset, delivering best in class experience for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated project and budget management skills
  • Experience of implementing strategy within an organization undergoing significant transformation.
  • Experience in US K-12 Market highly preferred.
  • Ability to influence within and across Divisions, experience partnering with cross-functional teams is required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong commitment to timelines, accuracy and professionalism.
  • Team leader, team player and positive attitude in a results-driven environment.
  • Data-driven approach and strong analytical skills.
  • Experience collaborating with supply chain operations processes.
