Job Description

The Business Insights Analyst (BIA) in an Associate Director that serves as a strategic business partner and single point of contact for generating actionable insights that drive superior performance within one of our forward deployment teams: US Vaccines. The role of the BIA is to thoroughly understand the business context and align the most appropriate resources within Human Health Insights, Analytics & Data, and the broader organization to

successfully address business opportunities and challenges. BIAs are assigned to one key therapeutic or brand area and report directly to the Business Insights Manager (BIM) for their assigned Franchise.

BIAs are critical to streamlining and aligning the optimal Insights and Analytics capabilities to the business question at hand. The BIA is an ambassador who achieves true partnership by careful understanding, interpretation & anticipation of business needs. To be successful, the BIA:

  • Serves as a core team member for assigned area of the business adept at stimulating, surfacing and shaping business opportunities.

  • Demonstrates proven ability to influence decisions based on insight, an ability to deal well with ambiguity, cultural sensitivity, and collaborate across teams and functions.

  • Seeks input from the BIM as appropriate in order to effectively support assigned area of the business.

  • Enables the success of the insight squad by empowering them to plan, budget and present results directly to the business decision-maker.

  • Develops methodologies and strategies using a broad array of tools to inform, persuade, influence, direct and facilitate actionable insights that lead to improved business results.

Primary activities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Aligns and activates teams of data, analytics & insights experts against a prioritized set of opportunities for maximum ROI.

  • Informs the Business Insights Manager on key issues in order to effectively support the assigned brand/therapy area.

  • Bridges boundaries across teams, functions, divisions, geographies, external stakeholders, and customers. Collaborates effectively across Human Health Insights, Analytics & Data to ensure that decisions informing strategy and tactics are maximized.

  • Works proactively with the Business leaders to establish appropriate priorities, deadlines and delivery schedule.

  • Maintains and encourages full compliance with our Company's policies and procedures.

  • Effectively utilizes a cross-functional Insights Squad to integrate a variety of sources/approaches and presents strategic options to the franchise teams: actively participates in follow-on sessions and facilitates decision-making regarding suggested approach.

Communicates with and influences broad range of stakeholders to take action:

  • Communicates with and aligns a wide range of internal stakeholders (e.g., Marketing, Agile Teams) to ensure the full value of insights are integrated into the business.

  • Translates findings from Human Health Insights, Analytics & Data into business implications.

  • Engages stakeholders in recommendations, and advocates for appropriate actions to be integrated into the business.

Drives Value for the business:

  • Works collaboratively within Human Health Insights, Analytics & Data in the appropriate selection and application of innovative best practices market research methods to drive business results.

  • Takes full ownership of understanding the business challenge/information needs, considers alternatives, proposes appropriate method/approach, applies best practices, and proactively considers and/or develops new techniques and innovations to meet objectives.

  • Maintains a mastery level of knowledge regarding ability to develop and execute consistent with our Company's policies and standards.

  • Viewed as an expert by non-direct reports and key stakeholders.

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Required: BA/BS

  • Preferred: MBA/MS

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in related functions (including sales, marketing, marketing/sales support, Analytics, Insights).

  • Deep understanding of the business and Human Health Insights Analytics & Data capabilities

  • In-depth knowledge of the healthcare environment

  • Successful track record of building partnerships across a highly matrixed organization

  • Advanced analytical skills, strong problem-solving, and demonstrated ability to think strategically and objectively

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Experience working in a multi-product franchises

  • Thorough understanding of marketing principles (L3) and its application across different stages of the product life cycle and customer segments.

  • Prior experience working in Marketing, New Products or Business Development a plus.

  • People Management
