Job Summary

Amentum is currently searching for a Business Development Director – Environmental.

The Business Development Director is responsible for securing new business in the Environmental market. This includes implementing our environmental strategic plan; performing opportunity assessments and competitive analyses; developing teaming approaches and providing teaming recommendations; securing teaming partners; negotiating teaming agreements; supporting the identification and selection of key personnel; and acting as the Capture Manager in leading responses to Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Proposal (RFP) including key personnel training for Oral Presentations. The Business Development Director is also required to develop and build a customer intimacy that facilitates the ability to understand and influence key programmatic and project areas and decisions that have an impact on our business and the market sector in general.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines

Minimum Requirements

Minimum 5 years (preferably 10) BD experience in environmental remediation market

5 years of technical and project management experience performing work in Environmental Management programs or equivalent market.

Detailed understanding of environmental cleanup including environmental remediation , compliance, and waste management.

Strong written and oral communication skills -- persuasive communication abilities and strong interpersonal skills

Experience solving problems, developing innovative solutions to complex technical and business issues, and leading teams towards meeting proposal requirements and corporate business goals

Experience selling/business positioning at the highest levels (in complex, multifaceted technically driven industries) including developing and facilitating the formation of business entities, teaming agreements, and assessing governance models for such entities.

Experience managing multiple pursuits simultaneously across multiple customers/markets

Experience with Federal, State and Local customers

Experience developing business for engineering/design services and field remediation projects


Preferred Qualifications

Experiencing developing business in multiple Army Corps of Engineers districts and DoD

Experience in high-hazard projects

Technical degree

B.S. degree in Engineering or Science
