The IT Sr. Director of Global Application Development, Global Manufacturing, Shop floor execution (MES & SCADA), Product Lifecycle Management and Compliance owns the application implementation roadmap and program portfolio for the respective areas of responsibility. This position is responsible for the overall program and project delivery function by providing astute technical and personnel management and leadership to the delivery of IS projects in close collaboration with all relevant IS functions and stakeholders.

This role will have overall ownership and responsibility for strategy, planning, execution and delivery of the Manufacturing, MES and PLM Enterprise wide programs including financial, resources, and scope accountability.

Candidates are expected to demonstrate deep enterprise program experience, technical breadth and program leadership skills to assist in defining solutions, leading delivery, implementation and rollout of multiple SaaS, ERP on-prem/cloud applications.

Essential duties & responsibilities: (detailed description)

  • Overall accountability and leadership for strategy, planning, delivery, financials, people, scope and timeline for Manufacturing & PLM applications.
  • In collaboration with IT teams, build a matrix organization responsible for the planning, execution and support of the global program requirements within Stryker’s IT systems
  • Ensure alignment and synergy across IT strategy/roadmaps and global programs
  • Actively participate on the Business Partner Leadership Team including key input into the strategic direction and roadmaps within the application portfolio as well as provide technical leadership and guidance across inter-related projects across the IT portfolio.
  • Coordinate with PMO Leads, Delivery Leads, Global Process Owners, and System Integrator(s), to drive programs/projects/release through delivery, on time completion, and within budget
  • Work with the IT program and project managers to address program bottlenecks, risks, and issues on an ongoing basis
  • Conduct research around emerging technologies, regulatory requirements, issues and key strategic topics that could influence or alter the program(s) roadmap or strategy
  • Engage internal and external subject matter experts to better understand industry benchmarks and trends and identify opportunities to improve processes or introduce new technologies
  • Drive recruitment and training of new program resources as needed. Grow internal talent through job rotation, training, and shadowing. Meaningful recognitions and keep project teams highly engaged and energized.
  • Financial focus on delivering activities on budget, leveraging time on value-driven activities and ensuring external resources meet contractual deliverables.
  • Special projects/assignments as required.

Education & special trainings:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in the areas of in Information Technology, CIS, or technical field of study required
  • MBA/Master’s degree preferred
  • PMP/Agile/Scrum Certification preferred

Qualifications & experience:

  • Minimum 15-20 years of industry experience leading Global strategy, planning, design, build, test, implement, release and upgrade of medium to large global ERP systems required.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience managing/leading IT Suppliers onshore and offshore to deliver enterprise systems and services is required.
  • 10 years of experience managing teams in a dynamic, cross-functional environment designing, building/configuring/customizing, testing, implementing, and rollout of SAP Manufacturing in areas of Manufacturing, Shop floor execution system, Product life cycle management, Intercompany and SAP solutions globally.
  • Proven leader that can strategically and intellectually work to creatively shape, lead, and implement programs.
  • Experience and expertise on SDLC/Agile/DevOps/SAFE implementation in large enterprise programs.
  • Significant experience in service management practices and processes within a continuous delivery environment.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory environment including FDA, ISO regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop high performing team and future leaders required.
  • Highly organized, influential, strategy and operations professional.
  • Intellectual curiosity, comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to learn and an ability to think big and fast.

  • Demonstrated experience in excellent problem-solving, analytical and time management skills. The candidate should have the ability to multi-task and effectively juggle competing priorities while managing stakeholder expectations.
