What you’ll be doing...

In this role, the Sr. Manager - Software Development will be a key leader for VBGportfolio in evaluating and designing systems and technologies to solve business challenges.

You will be responsible for driving and delivering software. You will be playing a pivotal role in overseeing organizational and systems planning and driving the execution of strategic goals, as well as ensuring that the tactical solutions and activities are in line with the strategic goals. You will build high-performing relationships with peers from Product, Sales, delivery and other members of the enterprise. Thought leadership in this area is essential and needs to guide the B2B organization on the selection of the right technologies for the applications.

  • Systems and Solution enablementfor Verizon Business Group.
  • Leading detailed design and development provisioning, activation and maintenance of connectivity between network and wireless stacks.
  • Define and drive architecture, modernization and consolidation of legacy systems.
  • Lead connectivity and business alignment on strategic portfolios of Network,Security Services & Professional services for Verizon Business Group.
  • Drive strategic oversight, cross functional team collaboration, and vendor governance.
  • Excellent communication abilities to articulate the vision and translate complex issues into comprehensible ideas and concepts.
  • Manage software delivery with both onshore and offshore resource teams and with IT vendors. Improve global team productivity.
  • Handle administrative and resource management of a portfolio comprising multiple projects and large teams. Accountable for sound financial decisions required to manage significant capital and expense budgets.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with technologies like AWS cloud, SDLC tools, Agile processes
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Information Systems, Business Administration or related field.
  • IT experience networking, applications, infrastructure, or database architectures.
  • Knowledge of Verizon Business products including Wireless & Wireline.
  • Leadership of a large, global, complex technology-based organization experience.
  • Experience with innovative application of data- and metric-driven performance management to lower cost and drive efficiency.
  • Experience in IT Security and compliance, operations and network services, and application development.
  • Experience Cloud and Container platform Strategies, Design, Architecture and Migration.
  • Experience developing applications and API frameworks to enable large-scale efficiencies.
  • Ability to lead complex projects by bringing together the right perspectives, identifying roadblocks, and integrating feedback from clients and team members.
  • Ability to perform analytics on previous incidents and usage patterns to better predict issues and take proactive actions.
  • Experience building and driving adoption for greater self-healing and resiliency patterns.
  • Ability with leading and participating in performance tests identify bottlenecks, opportunities for optimization, and capacity demands for product launches.
  • Talent development and management to ensure resources keep continuing to increase their skills.
  • Solid knowledge of IT strategic planning, technological trends of B2B systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to lead and motivate the global delivery organization across time zones.
