POSITION SUMMARY:

The (REMOTE) Manager of Sales Training Development Programs is a critical role within the Sales Center of Excellence. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive sales development programs aimed at enhancing the capabilities and performance of the sales team, organization wide. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in sales training, program management, and a deep understanding of the sales capabilities and processes. They will collaborate closely with talent development and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

The role offers the opportunity to lead sales development initiatives at scale across the sales function and requires close collaboration with leadership, key stakeholders, and sales subject matter experts. This role will lead a team of talent and organizational development consultants to support sales that are across multiple product lines. The ideal candidate will be passionate and experienced in learning design, adult development, sales, facilitation, and content curation.

The Manager – Sales Training Development Programs will report to the Sr. Manager – Enterprise Sales. Penske’s corporate offices are located in Reading, PA, 75 miles northwest of Philadelphia and travel is required approximately 25% as needed.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Program Development: Design and develop comprehensive sales development programs that address the needs of the sales team at various stages of their career progression.

• Training and Curriculum Design: Create training materials, resources, and curriculum that aligns with sales objectives and foster continuous learning and skill development.

• Program Implementation: Oversee the successful execution of sales development programs, including scheduling, logistics, participant communications and facilitation.

• Performance Analysis: Conduct ongoing evaluation of program effectiveness through the collection and analysis of performance metrics, feedback, and participant assessments.

• Collaboration: Work closely with the Sales Leadership team, HR, and other key stakeholders to ensure the sales development programs align with the overall sales strategy and organizational objectives.

• Coaching and Mentoring: Provide guidance and support to sales team members through coaching, mentoring, and one -on-one feedback sessions to help improve performance and achieve individual development goals.

• Best Practices: Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in sales training and development to continuously enhance the effectiveness in programs.

• Budget Management: Develop and manage the budget for sales development programs, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and delivering a high return on investment.

• Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors and training providers to leverage their expertise and resources to enhance the effectiveness of the programs when necessary.

• Reporting and Communication: Prepare regular reports and presentations on program outcomes, progress, and recommendations to communicate with key stakeholders and senior management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree Required

• 2+ years of functional sales experience required.

• 2+ years of Adult Learning & Development experience required

• 2+ years of experience designing, developing, & delivering effective learning experiences

In-depth knowledge of sales methodologies, techniques, and best practices.

• Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.

• Exceptional organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

• Strong leadership and coaching abilities, with a focus on driving performance improvement and individual growth.

• Proficiency in using learning management systems (LMS), sales enablement tools, and other relevant software.

• Familiarity with CRM systems and salesforce automation tools is a plus.

• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
