Position: Sr. Manager, EDC Database Development (Ref: 7292)

Location: 3033 Science Park Road, San Diego, CA 92121

Duties: Build, maintain, and deploy study databases to collect clinical trial data, including configuring study database internal module connections and external system integrations by drawing experience with Medidata Rave management and programming; utilizing global libraries and standard data tubulation module; project management; and problem solving. Responsible for initial study database development and changes required after initial deployment. Resposible for more complex studies in the portfolio which may require additional expertise. Contributing to the development of appropriate timelines for development and deployment of study databases. Provide EDC (Electronic Data Capture) technical expertise to data management and to the clinical study team members to support study decisions. Manage work assignments to ensure timely delivery. Identify and resolve issues which may negatively impact delivery of work, using collaborative strategies to reach resolution. Follow procedural documents and participating in reviewing and updating of documents to make sure they are reflective of industry standards and regulatory requirements and include optimal processes. Train and/or mentor newer electronic data capture database development team members on key activities and processes. Contribute to the development and application of smart systems and optimal approaches to support the collection of data. Participate in and/or leading continuous improvement activities, define and implement the changes required to create an industry-leading EDC capability. Prepare and follow-up actions related to Health Authority inspections and internal audits. Liaise with and review work delivered by external partners, such as function service providers, clinical research organizations, and technology providers to perform activities on behalf of the company. Develop strong and productive working relationships with key stakeholders throughout Global Data Management Clinical Monitoring, Global Data Operations, and the company by providing strategic thinking across a broad portfolio and express views to senior management. Represent the company in interactions with key external partners as part of any committee or industry group relating to global library development.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field plus 5 years of post-baccalaureate experience in global clinical trials with a focus on EDC database development and clinical database development in Rave, showing demonstrable ability in the skills set described above.

The starting compensation for this job is a range ($125,008 - $164,800/year), plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility). The starting pay takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed. Final, individual compensation is decided based on demonstrated experience.
