We are looking for a talented Software Development Manager to lead 3 DevOps Teams building real time Learning Analytics and Insights Platforms. Looking for a Strong People and Technology Leader who has the passion to take an idea and drive it to the delivery. As a Software Development and Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for successful development and delivery of commercial software services that facilitate Data and Learning Analytics systems built on top of Big Data Platform. This opportunity will leverage your passion, drive and experience around building high performing teams involved in critical solution delivery. In the role, you will drive the team to operate in most efficient and effective way with clear goals while focusing on improving team motivation and engagement.

JOB Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and nurture relationships at all levels - direct reports, peers, superiors, partners, and customers.
  • Have excellent communication skills. Besides nurturing relationships, you must understand your team’s strengths and weaknesses (technical and non-technical), clearly update your customer on status and changes, always keep your management knowledgeable about what you are doing and your status, and continually be in sync with your Product Manager, QA Manager, and Technical Project Manager.
  • Comfortable with cloud environments, automated deployments, CI/CD, real time streaming, big data analytics, REST interfaces, software patterns, how to solve hard technical problems. You are not an architect or tech guru, but you need to understand the technology well enough to understand if a technical decision is a good choice or bad.
  • Comfortable with programming, especially with Java. You are not developer, but you need to be able to open up someone else’s code and be able to discern good code from bad.
  • Able to scope out projects. Ability to execute and maintain strategic goals and metrics.
  • Able to identify the deliverables, dependencies, milestones, risks, and other pressures on the team.
  • Understand, monitor and help improve process so that delivery is efficient and successful. You will not be a Scrum Master, but you will partner in improving processes and responsible for making sure decisions are followed through.
  • Understand how software is deployed and what it takes to get software properly tested and blue / green deployed without any disruption to the customer experience.
  • Understand if your team has the right individuals for the right roles. You will be responsible for the performance reviews, hiring, and termination of your team. members. You must understand how the different individuals contribute to the delivery of system.

Qualifications

What would make you a good fit:

  • 5 years of Multiple Team Management and Software Delivery Experience with DevOps and SecOps thinking, managing globally distributed teams
  • 3 years of hands-on Software Development Experience
  • Great at analyzing and understanding complex systems and being able to contribute to its design
  • Experience with AWS, REST Services, SQL, NoSQL, Java, Cloud Services, and DevOps
  • Experience working with Direct-to-Consumer Products and Features is a plus
  • Experience in Google Cloud and Big Data Technonologies is a plus
  • Vendor Management Experience is a plus

The anticipated starting salary range for Colorado-based individuals expressing interest in this position is $140-170K. This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program.
