What you’ll be doing...

  • Managing the architecture and engineering of PrivateCloud platform VCOSP(Verizon Cloud Object Storage Platform).
  • Providing functional, technical, operational, and process leadership to VCOSP DevOps including architecture, design, development, and delivery of environments/infrastructure using industry-standard processes, tools & technologies.
  • Enabling CI/CD automation using end-to-end pipelines covering builds, deployments, security scans, code scans, and integration testing using tools like Jenkins, bamboo, Git etc.
  • Managing teams comprising FTEs/vendors to provide 24 x 7 support and respond to issues with urgency. These duties include the opening of an investigation and outage bridges, troubleshooting, management of traffic across multiple applications and locations, managing periodic checkpoint calls, and tracking of open items on a daily basis for the supported applications.
  • Working closely with architects, engineers, Operations, Product Managers and other clients and partners of the DevOps team to meet the needs of the organization to stay competitive - from the infrastructure up to the highest level of applications availability and scalability at optimum performance level.
  • Continuously analyzing current processes and practices and suggesting/driving improvements.
  • Enabling canary deployments and blue/green environment setup as part of zero touch environment maintenance.

  • Analyzing competitive products and technologies and making appropriate suggestions (may use demos, POCs) to influence product/technology direction.
  • Deploying, maintaining and troubleshooting K8s/Cloud/DevOps platform including application servers, cloud resources, API management and integration, Single Sign-On and associated hardware or endpoints, and databases.
  • Building and configuring Kubernetes-based infrastructure, network policies, LBs, and cluster security.
  • Automating the build of containerized systems with CI/CD tools, Helm charts, and more.
  • Monitoring and auditing hardware resources, security, operating system, service logs, and metrics for performance issues using centralized tools.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant experience in Production Support/Operations/DevOps support with Docker/K8s experience.
  • Experience with CI/CD, DevOps tools like Jenkins, Git, Ansible, Artifactory, Gitlab along with AWS Cloud, K8s/EKS, and Linux.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent with ten or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in SRE principles and techniques.
  • Experience working with webserver technologies like Apache, Oracle Iplanet, IBMHttpServer; Application Server expertise like Websphere, WebLogic and Tomcat along with expertise in java, golang, and shell scripting.
  • Experience in Application Monitoring and Logging tools like ELK, Splunk, Prometheus, New Relic, Kibana, Grafana.
  • Experience in networking concepts like Subnets, routing, DNS, and VPN.
  • Experience with Load Balancers: NGINX, HAproxy, GLB, AKAMAI/EdgeCast, ALB/ELB, etc.
  • Experience with database management systems: Cassandra, MongoDB, MySQL, etc.
  • Experience with messaging systems: RabbitMQ, Kafka, JMS, etc.
  • Experience in Identity Management with familiarity in one or more of the areas like Single Sign On, Identity Federation.
  • Experience in reviewing application performance metrics and proactively addressing performance concerns.
  • Experience in building and maintaining DEV, QA and PROD and Disaster Recovery environments hosted on EKS/K8s/Cloud.
  • Experience in troubleshooting issues and quickly resolve them in an efficient manner that minimizes downtime.
  • Experience building high-performance infrastructures that are scalable and resilient.
  • AWS/K8s/DevOps Certifications.
  • Experience with implementation of Docker, Kubernetes & EKS framework.
  • Experience with ForgeRock Access Management, Directory Services, Identity Management, and Identity Gateway.
