Job Description:

Leidos is seeking an experienced candidate to join our Hawai‘i Energy program on the business team as the Business Program Manager. The Business Program Manager (BPM) oversees the growth and expansion of Hawai’i Energy programs while ensuring current programs meet goals and objectives defined by the Public Utilities Commission (PUC). Working closely with the leadership team, the BPM will lead the strategy and execution of all business program execution. The BPM will apply his/her expertise to ensure that the entire organization has the direction, information, resources and support necessary to execute on strategy while also overseeing the development and leadership of the Businesses team primarily comprised of Energy Advisors. The BPM will be responsible to drive a culture of accountability, success and goal achievement to the team and throughout the organization.

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Business Program Manager will:

  • Oversee the staffing, development, design, and execution of energy efficiency programs in order to meet the performance goals, metrics and directives required by the Public Utilities Commission (PUC).

  • Manage all aspects of the business team forecast through Salesforce, working with the team to accurately assess probabilities of projects and project pipelines. Take action when needed to increase activity and pipeline to ensure goal attainment. Regularly report out to the leadership team the program forecast and pipeline, and any actions as needed.

  • Manage budgets, staff and subcontractors to meet financial targets.

  • Operationalize strategies and business plans into end use and sector-specific goals, initiatives and tactics and oversee their implementation through ongoing controlling and monitoring of performance and results.

  • Develop, track and report critical business metrics that allow accurate assessment of all aspects of performance, productivity, strategic effectiveness and financial performance.

  • Conduct plan reviews with the Energy Advisors on a regular cadence. Coach and assist staff in the areas of prospecting, relationship building, needs identification, probability assessments, pipeline management, and need fulfillment.

  • Manage the Business Handbook, ensure Energy Advisors follow these procedures and works with the broader team to update as necessary.

  • Regularly present to the PUC, customers, contractors, and the media on the business programs.

  • Develop relationships with existing design, supplier and construction communities to identify new opportunities while addressing their needs of the program.

  • Work closely with marketing and communications to develop effective customer outreach and improve the customer experience.

  • Address customer service complaints and feedback; seek solutions to prevent future occurrences.

  • Identify business requirements and needs for Salesforce system changes and enhancements; work close with IT team to implement and test system updates.

  • Reconcile business portfolio Salesforce metric data and identify any issues; work closely with IT and data team to resolve.

Qualifications:

  • Strong personal commitment to the mission, vision, goals and values of the Hawai‘i Energy program.

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, environmental science, engineering or a related field and 8+ years of relevant experience. Or Master’s degree preferred and 6+ years of relevant experience. Or a combination of education and experience from which comparable skills were acquired.

  • 4+ years of leadership experience demonstrating a track record of business operations management, sales/business development experience, and direct supervisory experience.

  • Desired experience includes experience in the energy efficiency field, particularly management of energy efficiency programs

  • Proven experience in helping other people turn their ideas into reality; work with multiple fluid team structures which requires trust and integrity.

  • Well versed with Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook along with Salesforce CRM experience and ability to leverage system to fullest capabilities.

  • Must have demonstrated ability to accurately analyze information, make strategic decisions and recommendations, and guide others’ decision making by identifying the anticipated benefits, consequences, and impacts of alternatives.

  • Catalyst for change and receptive to new ideas/services and continual learning

  • Strong presenter with an executive presence

  • Ability to set and clearly articulate goals/priorities and exhibit a high level of energy and drive to achieve them. A perspective that encourages personal commitment and holds management and support staff accountable for achieving targets

  • Must have demonstrated people skills and be able to effectively lead, teach and manage a diverse workforce in a complex and challenging work environment while maintaining good workplace morale and performance.

Pay Range:
