Our Animal Health Division U.S. Strategy and Business Channel Intern will be a virtual full-time position supporting our company's Animal Health Business Channel team and the Kansas City Animal Health Corridor. There may be an option for some in-person work at our company’s Lenexa, Kansas office as permitted by health and safety circumstances next summer. This position will be an opportunity to gain valuable industry experience with time shared equally between our company's Animal Health and the Kansas City Animal Health Corridor. Our company's Animal Health U.S Strategy and Business Channel Intern will support and lead projects aligned to our company's Animal Health’s strategic priorities. The intern will provide added value to our Company’s customers with rotations in Retail/E-Commerce Marketing and Project Management. The intern will interact with many team members to gain first-hand animal health industry experience. Additionally, the Channel Intern will have the opportunity to align their career interests in collaboration with the Animal Health Corridor to develop a customized work experience. Candidates must have the ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.

The U.S. Channel Team Sales Intern will:

  • Throughout the summer, the intern will rotate within 2 key groups of our company's Animal Health U.S. Strategy & Business Channels team. These rotations will include Retail/E-Commerce Marketing and Project Management. The intern will spend time with each team to allow for broad exposure across several parts of the business.

  • The intern will equally spend time coordinating activities, resources, equipment, and communications in support of the annual Animal Health Corridor Summit event with the Kansas City Animal Health Corridor.

  • Be assigned to a hiring manager at our company's Animal Health for general direction/guidance as well as a mentor to direct daily interactions with the assigned business team(s).

  • Present a summary of their summer contributions to leadership at the conclusion of the internship program.

Required Education & Experience

  • Candidates must be in the process of earning a BA or BS degree and currently enrolled in any bachelor’s or master’s degree program (Animal Science, Ag Business, Agriculture, as well as Business, Marketing, or related degrees).
  • Candidates must have completed at least 2 years of college coursework by May 2022.
  • Candidates must be available for a period of 10-12 weeks that will begin near the end of May 2022, with the potential of a 2-3 week extension to continue work with the Corridor.
  • Candidates must be able to attend meetings virtually.
  • Candidates must be returning to school after completing this internship.
  • Candidates must have excellent interpersonal/communication and presentation skills.
  • Candidates must have general computer skills including working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Candidates must have the ability to be organized, adapt to a changing environment, work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Experience & Skills

  • Candidates should have project management, event, and/or marketing exposure
  • Candidates should be a proactive problem solver
  • Candidates should have excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Candidates should have basic knowledge of the Animal Health and/or Animal Feed industries
  • Candidates should have a minimum GPA of 3.0
