Lead Learning and Development Specialist - Industries

Act as a learning and talent development specialist on effective and leading-edge learning and development designs that align with learning and talent development strategy to achieve desired business outcomes. Assist in the creation and development of various learning programs and training experiences to help support Deloitte personnel develop the capabilities and knowledge needed to grow at Deloitte. Execute and operationalize development programs and processes. Provide expertise to identify, research and resolve complex problems. Engage in ongoing self-development to continuously grow.

Work you'll do

  • Assist with the design, development, pilot and delivery of assigned programs. Activities may include:
    • Researching relevant, updated source material needed to meet business outcomes
    • Designing the learning experience, whether live, virtual, nano / eLearning, mobile, etc.
    • Developing program materials to enhance learning program, prepare stakeholders
    • Driving follow-through to maximize transfer of knowledge, skills and capabilities to the job
    • Deploying active on-the-job performance support
    • Driving completion within budget and timeline
    • Documenting results
  • Effectively communicate program design strategy, program status, and issues with stakeholders at all levels as appropriate; Resolve escalated issues / inquiries
  • Coordinate with CTS Delivery team on all deliveries, including facilities, technology, materials, catering; Team with colleagues on Learning & Development team, vendors, USI CRM and contractor resources to build positive, collaborative partnerships as needed for execution
  • Manage creating, maintenance, and refresh of assigned eLearning courses within budget and timeline
  • Demonstrate initiative in gathering feedback and data from practitioners, improving learning and development programs, and constantly moving learning to the next level
  • Collaborate effectively with CTS / CRM to maintain accurate data integrity, maintain historical archives, and respond to ad hoc requests for curriculum information
  • Build effective relationships with key stakeholders related to development projects; prepare draft presentations and reports to support stakeholder meetings
  • Demonstrate initiative in identifying areas for operational improvement, making suggestions and driving change to gain efficiencies and improve service
  • Support or lead cross-team operational initiatives as needed
  • Use standard metrics and develop any unique measurement requirements for projects; produce metrics scorecard for learning/certification
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including:
    • Adaptable communication skills: tailoring one's style appropriately to different audience needs and preferences
    • High level of responsiveness (ability to manage daily email requests and respond with status within 24 hours of receipt)
    • Business writing skills: can write succinctly, but with impact. Knows what context is relevant and what is considered as 'noise' to the reader.
    • Strong project management skills, including: building and monitoring work-plans, knowing what to prioritize and why, knowing who to keep informed, why, and how often, knowing when to escalate.
    • Comfortable interacting with senior leaders; can present to senior leadership without undue tension and nervousness; understands how senior leaders think and work; can determine the best way to get things done by talking their language and responding to their needs

Primarily, the Industry Development Specialist is responsible for assisting with the research, design, development, pilot and delivery of assigned efforts. He / she will drive completion within budget and timeline, leading the coordination of the CTS Delivery / CRM team to execute deliveries and track data effectively. Specialists must be comfortable aligning communications, people, processes, resources and systems to ensure effective implementation and delivery of program solutions.

Our Industry Development team works almost exclusively in a virtual environment. As such, it is critical that Development Specialists are able to allocate their own time efficiently, handle multiple demands and competing priorities on their own with, at times, little direct supervision from others, manage meetings effectively over the phone, and recognize and demonstrate engagement and support for their team by actively leading and participating on calls, raising questions and sharing their opinions appropriately.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree; Minimum 4 years of related experience
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Strong strategic-thinking skills with an ability to collaborate with team members on best practices
  • Consultative approach toward clients
  • Sound leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Natural curiosity and passion for continuous improvement
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills
  • Up to 30% travel could be required based on role responsibilities
