Leidos, Inc. is searching for a motivated, self-starting individual to function as its Emergency Operations and Response Manager in support of our SMIT program. The candidate for this position will possess identifiable administrative, management and leadership skills necessary to manage, coordinate, and direct the planning, organization, control and implementation of Leidos’ SMIT emergency management activities and COVID reporting.

The Emergency Operations and Response candidate is responsible for: 1) assisting Leidos executive SMIT program management in proactively protecting and monitoring the well-being of Leidos’ staff and/or facilities, 2) coordinating and liaising with the Leidos’ Emergency Operations Center (“EOC”) staff, leveraging tools and process, 3) creating, maintaining and coordinating Leidos’ SMIT enterprise-wide emergency response capabilities and protocols, 4) responding to all-hazards threats to Leidos SMIT staff and/or facilities 5) establishing reporting protocols to ensure compliance with legislative requirements of emerging COVID reporting requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create, maintain and monitor intelligence/information streams that identify and provide timely situational awareness to events that may adversely affect Leidos’ staff and/or facilities

  • Appropriately triage and respond to all-hazards threats to Leidos’ staff and/or facilities in coordination with the Leidos EOC staff

  • Day-to-day trends on incident reporting, aggregation of data by domain for reporting to program leadership, preparation and analysis of data to be reported to government relative to Covid etc.

  • Making recommendations to leadership based on analysis

  • Leverage the Leidos infrastructure utilized by the EOC to support Leidos SMIT emergency management and crisis response capabilities in support of the SMIT program

  • Effectively communicate to, and work with, all levels of Leidos SMIT Program management and staff on high-profile and high-consequence matters, often in a fast-paced and chaotic environment

  • Leverages existing corporate-wide emergency management plans and risk/threat assessments.

  • Working with the SMIT program domain leads establishes and maintains Leidos’ emergency management policies and communications procedures and engages in both internal and external outreach on emergency management issues.

  • Partner with the Leidos’ Emergency Operations Center (“EOC”); during an incident, activates the program leadership communication protocols and reporting while coordinating all SMIT enterprise-wide notifications.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ Degree (significant crisis management experience may offset lack of degree)

  • 8-12 years of crisis management experience (or the functional/practical equivalent thereof)

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in stressful environments, including the ability to appropriately triage action items and appropriately manage response plans/teams

  • Exceptional organizational, communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance.

  • Skill in developing effective relationships and collaborative partnerships, both internally and externally (i.e., with internal stakeholders, external partners and governmental authorities).

  • Skill in facilitating consensus among stakeholders and partners from various disciplines.

  • Skill in data mining and evaluating information from various sources.

  • Ability to quickly adapt to rapidly-changing work conditions and priorities.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently, both in writing and verbally, to a wide-range of audiences
